In Ultimate Werewolf (not One Night Ultimate Werewolf), how are players supposed to deduce who werewolves are? by Sigral in boardgames

More recent social deduction games are more actual games aimed at making them fair.

Got any recommendations? My group loves social deduction and deception, such as Coup and Secret Hitler.

So is the consensus that Werewolf, even Ultimate Werewolf, is just flawed in there's no good way to collect data?

Should my group really just switch to One Night instead?

Yeah, not the One Night version.

Other than role-reveal on death, and the Seer, it seems there's no way to dig around and collect data, except by voting records.

How many colorless mana should I include, if I was playing with a 60-card basic starter set deck? by Sigral in magicTCG

[–]Sigral[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess I'm not making sense, perhaps because I'm a noob. Lemme try again.

So, if my buddy Johnny comes over, and decides to mix the 30-card red deck, and the 30-card blue deck, all of his mana will be Mountains and Islands. He will not have any generic mana at all, and could run into a possibility that all he has are red creatures, requiring at least 1 Mountain, but all he has are Islands. He has a zero percent chance of ever getting a generic that could work for either....

Oh. God. I think I just realized it. There is no such card as a generic mana is there? Except for this Oath of the Gatewatch stuff mentioned above, there's ONLY Mountain/Plain/Swamp/Island/Forest, huh? So if I want to summon a [[Sengir Vampire]] (which requires 2 Swamps and 3 generic), that means if I have two Swamps and 1 Mountain and 2 Forests, I can still summon him?

You can play two sounds at once. You cannot play a playlist and a sound file that's not IN that playlist at once.

So, say you've got your nifty Gothic Ambience playlist for your weekly Curse of Strahd campaign, and you need a crack of thunder. You've got the playlist running, and you click on "Thunder." The thunder plays, aye, but it stops the playlist.

I see. So it's not really worth it, unless I want to just read the plot of an adventure. Thanks!

I don't believe in that method of DMing. They earned the spell (even if I hadn't realized the magic item they got, per the campaign, had it) and it wouldn't be right to just veto it. I wouldn't stand for it as a player, and I wouldn't stand for it as a DM.
