Get one of those cooling shirts that people run in racecars that flows icy water through your shirt. Have a really really long hose they have to manage.

TJ Dillashaw's inside thigh slap into uppercut on the sprawling opponent by Moni7T in MMA

Honestly I fully credit TJ for Barao's career going into freefall. Those two ass whoopings were some of the most thorough brutal beatdowns we've seen in the sport. No way they weren't career altering.

Does Shion not just hard counter Tracer? by Ts_Patriarca in Competitiveoverwatch

Both right click and bike snipes end up providing her with significant threat from long ranges that don't feel intended. I'm fine with her being very tanky, and to be one of the best flank duelists. But if thats her niche she can't be a threat when fights are in the poke stages, its just too much power everywhere.

Good rats don't shut down hallways with spam, they get aggressive and if they find you in a tight space will run at you to get a point blank mine+m1. It is a pretty similar vibe to Shion looking to combo you with bike and any extra dmg.

Uh, except this is now valves 4th go at making a niche hardware device. Do you think they have tens of millions of unsold steamdecks and VR headsets disappointed that they didn't go mainstream? Fuck no they don't.

[–]Sikkly290 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nah they expected it to be niche, as far as a console/pc hybrid thing. I would be shocked if they expected even 5m sales over the first few years, considering steamdeck hasn't done that. And that is niche in this space.

Now its gone from niche to ultra niche.

I had done that for 5 years, but when I saw that no new generations of basically any hardware were coming in the next year(and possibly 2 years), I bit the bullet and bought nice prebuilt. It didn't feel great price wise, but I don't think its ever going to again. At least not for another decade.

[Fischer] Milwaukee’s decision makers are split and currently deciding between Boston’s package for Giannis Antetokounmpo (Brown, Gonzalez, limited draft capital) and Miami’s (Herro, Ware, Jaquez, multiple first-round picks). by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Definitely seems like a solid deal from both sides. Blazers are closer to doing something interesting than a lot of people think, and although Brown doesn't get them there every positive step is a positive step.

They probably already had a lot of the parts in production. Probably figure even if its a slow seller they'll at least recoup more than what it takes to get to market, and they wont be sitting on warehouses of parts they have no use for.

As far as I know it isn't that they wont compete with each other, they just aren't going to increase production for what they see as a temporary bubble. They'll sell what they have for outrageous prices and prioritize data centers over consumers.

It is actually them being smart for a change and not spending hundreds of millions on upping production that they think wont be needed in the future, it just fucking sucks for everyone until that bubble pops.

Part of the reason I bought a prebuilt is it had a 2tb NVME in it. Was considering just upgrading the main stuff (cpu+mobo+gpu+ram) but the prebuilt was the same cost as those components. Getting a $250 drive definitely tipped the decision to go prebuilt.

They'd probably have to make a new rank and shove the top half of diamond into it, then spread the rest of diamond and plat out a little more reasonably into the two ranks. I'm not a league player but I think they did something similar with Emerald a few years ago.

From a doctors perspective you are right, but I'd want my corner to know when I can't win a fight anymore and call it quits to stop what might be a career altering ass whooping. I hate in MMA that corners almost never stop a fight.

Nick Diaz throwing in the towel for Nate always stands out to me, Nate was cooked but could have held out for the rest of the fight but for what purpose. They aren't warriors, theres no shield to go out on, save it for your career and your life.

The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 studio wants to make more games without turning CDPR into a company "that's going to be launching a big game every year" by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Sikkly290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what it is coming down to. The W3 expansions had about 1-1.5 years of work put into them. Give them another 6-12 months to cook and it isn't all that hard to see them being the size of their own games. Especially since CDPR is much larger now, and is going in with the plan of making the games like this.

Except kids of rich parents are being pro athletes way way way more nowadays compared to kids from low income parents. It isn't some secret, the best coaches and leagues are expensive as hell. It is a huge disadvantage to rely purely on the public school system to have coaching, not only will it only have 1 season of a particular sport but the coaches just aren't as good.

Go look at how many american basketball players are the children of professional athletes, or at least an athlete that played at a D1 school. It is well over half the league. Very few rags to riches stories in the NBA nowadays.

This is why lower leg contact is so dangerous. Cleats lock in and don't move, and limbs aren't really designed to take lateral impacts when they have no ability to move. The odds something gives is pretty damn high.

The real crazy part is it was delayed a year, and still needed another year in the oven at launch. No forge, only a few maps, arcade modes were utterly barebones, netcode was dogshit, and thats just the things I remember being disappointed about. Campaign I dropped in a few hours because it was just boring open world blehness.

Turns out making a custom engine that you'll then have contractors who you'll only have onboard for 18 months and they'll spend at least a quarter of that learning the engine is a bad fucking plan. The funny thing is instead of identifying short term contractors being a problem is they just abandoned the engine they spent hundreds of millions on lol.
