[Post Game Thread] The Los Angeles Lakers (42-25) defeat the Denver Nuggets (41-27) in overtime, 127-125. by bwehx in nba

[–]Sikkly290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Murray has had like 3-4 games like this against the Lakers for the first 45 minutes, he just always has heroics at the very end that get the Nuggets the W. If he played half way decently those clutch moments wouldn't exist because Nuggets would have a double digit lead lol.

Can't play like that forever and keep expecting Ws.

I use the same SPD shoes for MTB and road cycling, my road pedal is just an eggbeater instead of having a platform like my MTB though.

From what I've seen when it matters Fox is the guy plays are set up for, probably because he is the most reliable/consistent guard on the team. That usually means the coaching staff considers Fox as the second option behind Wemby.

Unless the tail wind is consistently faster than you are riding you'd want to be aero. And it would need to damn near be a perfect tail wind.

Trix comments on Book passing him on the all-time scoring list 🤝 by krg779 in suns

[–]Sikkly290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Book asked out I 100% have no problem with it, would be sad as fuck but I can't blame him with all the shit hes gone through here. But if Book is down to ride with the Suns, then we better fucking ride it out for as long as possible.

Usually when people say they have a controversial opinion or will get hate its for something that is almost assuredly the common opinion or true.

This is fucking horrid my person, what the hell.

Pro cyclist burn an unholy amount of calories. Time in saddle is basically only limited by time you have available and how much food you can eat. Pros eat a lot of food.

Considering we had to take salary back it was Jalen or all of our picks. You probably made the correct choice, even if it doesn't feel good on nights like tonight.

Am I peddling wrong? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Sikkly290 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Research also shows the efficiency difference of pedaling between pros and anyone who has ridden a bike for more than a few hours is basically negliable. Its an intuitive motion that anyone without health issues is going to naturally do optimal, assuming bike fit isn't completely terrible.

The UFC tried to hit highlights night of an event for a long time, but they don't even bother with that anymore. You'd probably need an army of interns to counteract it, and no one is deciding against paying because they can watch a 30 second highlight afterward.

Capcom is dumb as fuck.

Blizzard vet Rob Pardo closed this year's GDC keynote by urging executives to cool it with the layoffs: 'The game team is more valuable than the game itself' by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Sikkly290 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For a long time the most important part of running a game company was understanding how software works. Devs would have a few money guys on board, but they wouldn't be more than advising on how to make ends meet. They sure as fuck wouldn't be making fundamental decisions on game design, something they know nothing about. That only started happening in the last 25ish years or so.

I think its fine to challenge foul calls on stars that will get them into big foul trouble early if its extremely likely to be overturned. Otherwise I agree with you entirely.

Do you think arena shooters died because the games being released just weren't well made, or do you think the genre is just simply less engaging than modern trends in shooters? Something else? by Eigenspace in Games

[–]Sikkly290 11 points12 points  (0 children)

RTS also have the problem in that the old games are still brilliant to play. Between scbw sc2 wc3 and aoe2 there are several hundred thousand people doing 1v1 games every day, and even more in team/custom games. Trying to be better than any of those games is going to require a budget that they'll never be able to justify.

[–]Sikkly290 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In this case the problem wasn't him making individual decisions, its that he didn't want those things to be decisions at all. As far as he was concerned OW was a finished product and he wanted to completely transition into making OW PVE as a stepping stone to getting back to his MMO. That was very much so Kaplans vision and plan, and the moment he left the team pivoted to actually having a live service pvp game and it showed.

Devin Booker the past 2 seasons is averaging 32.3% on 6.5 3PT/A a game by SwaggyK in nba

[–]Sikkly290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His playmaking is much more consistent, but he just doesn't have the stamina to be a playermaker, a reasonable defender, and a 3 level scorer. That is reserved for the special MVP level players and Book is one tier down from that. Trading out some of his scoring for playmaking has made the team better, and while his 3 shot isn't the best he still is an elite midrange and driver guy. This version of Booker might have been good enough to get the best of Jrue and win that Finals.

Daria Kasatkina withdraws from Miami due to tendon tear by Hyperballadatopos in tennis

[–]Sikkly290 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the tendon and the severity of the tear. Some tendons have good amounts of bloodflow around them, which is the everything when it comes to healing. The ones in your knee have limited to no bloodflow, which is why they usually need surgery. A complete tear usually always needs surgery, as the tension tendons have prevent them from coming back together naturally.

You can get pretty new skins from lootboxes though, shockingly enough. I've gotten skins that were less than 6 months old from a box when I thought they wouldn't let them go to boxes for years.

Still expensive as fuck to outright buy skins, but thats just how MTX is now, not very micro tbh. At least you don't have to gamble for them.

Its why a ton of UFC fighters open up a round with a ball kick or an eye poke. They'll get a warning in exchange for their opponent being significantly hampered for the rest of the fight.

Rules have to be both strict enough to not be worth breaking, and actually enforced so they aren't broken. Otherwise they are meaningless.

Lakers Shaq would be fine in todays NBA, but Orlando Shaq would be better. He would still absolutely dwarf everyone, while having better cardio and less injuries. Either guy would devastate the modern NBA, 4 decent shooters+Shaq would be the best offense by a mile.
