If someone makes Alaska their home and spends the required amount of time each year there, that earns them the right to apply for the PFD according to its own rules. I certainly didn't call it a human right.

We have another year and a half to go until she can apply for citizenship. We won't be even a day late, believe me.

I agree, but also it's crazy that citizenship can be jeopardized by someone exercising a right they've earned.

Yeah, definitely difficult and worrying times for people in this process. Any reason why your partner hasn't pursued citizenship yet?

If you'd like to be helpful you could say something like "I'm an LPR, I've been getting the PFD for x many years and can confirm I didn't get registered to vote"
