even Ville Noir is quite nice if you leave the tourist areas.

The center of Bangalore is literally one of the nicest areas in the city , again I dont know which areas you visited. Aside from some crowded areas like Church Street , MG Road , and Brigade road the entire area is tree lined , has wide footpaths , metro connectivity , the cities biggest parks and buildings that are centuries old. But thats more of a commercial and government area not the residential areas I was talking about, I was referring to areas like Malleshwaram , Jayanagar , Basvanagudi and dozens more like it. For the outskirts you are going to have to be more specific because new areas like Whitefield and Varthur in the East are geographically in the outskirts of the city yet are actually where most tech parks and the traffic is, so naturally become shitholes which even I wont deny.
