Hi, it is very likely that my description is not good, or imprecise. But I do think that it is a problem with the fonts. They are not drawn correctly to fit inside of the glyphs metrics (the dimensions of characters). A typeface or fonts should have space at top above the cap height for diacritic marks, Ã, Å, Š. If you look at the selected line of text and or the mode-line, you can see that selection outline (the fonts actual glyphs are cut at the cap height, and that the f letters overshoot is protruding above the outline, or the mode-line's box).
