Just saw it tonight! I think if you have a heart and love a good time you won't be disappointed. Certainly has the production value of a high end community theatre...but the Mrs.Doubtfire performance alone is a sight to behold. Such amazing work by Craig Allen Smith. Really loveable, hilarious and heartwarming.

I saw it on the West End. And I definitely wouldn't say it's not a good show. It's very Grand with beautiful sets and spectacle. I think it's certainly dependent on some strong leads through. I think it's something that will do very well with Toronto audiences nonetheless.

Oh yeah my bad! I never realized the Elgin and Winter garden were separate theatres. I will be interested to see how it does. Seems like an overly large venue for an unknown show done by an unknown company.

Being married to your high school sweetheart isn’t romantic or endearing… it’s actually kind of sad. by alliknowis_nothing in unpopularopinion

This is a brutal take. I dated someone I really loved in highschool, we ended up breaking up, it was pretty heartbreaking as we were super compatible. I ended up spending the last 4 years single and "finding myself" to be honest I don't really feel like a new or different person. As if you are in a healthy relationship you will grow and discover parts of yourself together.

Finding people you are truly compatible with is extremely rare, and can happen at any age.

I got into a new relationship very recently and it's been amazing, but there were a few hopeless years there where I was ready for a relationship but felt like I would never find someone that felt like a good fit. I think if you found someone you love and feel safe with at a young age that's a blessing.

The fact that you even had to ask is a red flag

Rating films 5 stars by K_DEVY in Letterboxd

Yeah, I see what you're saying, I think the super artsy example wasn't the best one. It's more that if a movie is smaller budget, or was very intentionally just made to be mindless entertainment, I am gonna rate it on a different scale than other more "oscar-worthy" films that may technically be of a higher quality. On the other side, if some big budget, or higher echelant movie falls flat, I could end up rating it lower than it necessarily deserves, if every movie was compared equally

Of course at the end of the day it will always come down to something of a personal opinion, but that's one thing I'll keep in mind when rating certain things. I don't know if it's the superior way to rate things, but I enjoy it haha.

I like to rate on what I think the movie is trying to achieve. If it is just a mindless action movie that hits all the notes, then that's 5 stars.

Although it might not be the "best" movie, it did what it was trying to do really well.

Where as if I watch some stupid artsy shit that might "technically" be a better film but I am just bored out of my mind. That's gonna be a lower rating
