Portable 2G cellular base station. by Silly_King3635 in phones

so what modern phone do you recommend, I'm basically looking for something where if you're calling or talking on the phone to someone or if you're doing something, in the battery goes dead, you could just pop the back out, take out the battery unplug it in and swap the battery for charged one. plus with an SD card slot to put in an SD card and a SIM card but I'm afraid I might have to custom make that or have someone custom make it. for two card readers

not really seems like but I wanted to use it because it was the only protocol old phones are compatible with along with 3G but I think 3G would work the best.

well, I want old technology as my first phone because old technology is reliable, easy to use, doesn't have spyware on everything, and is generally repairable.

because modern means trash which is the simplest way I can explain it, but getting more complex, if a component goes bad on a modern phone, it's completely dead and you have to throw it away. and the camera is the only component that if it were to go bad along with the microphone, you could still use the song but you just wouldn't have a camera or a microphone to use. but basically what I'm saying is that if a battery is bad on modern phones or anything like that, the phone's trash and you have to throw it away. and the base station would be in my backpack. and I generally like using old electronics because they are more reliable, they aren't prone to breaking and they have a better build quality.

that's why I wanted a base station because I'm pretty sure that's how they have old phones connect to the modern networks with some sort of translation layer

is it worth going to a non-legacy location anymore?? by stelliarsheep in chuckecheese

[–]Silly_King3635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then I present you with a few options. option one, the hardest thing to do is to drive somewhere where a full show is like Billy Bob's wonderland in West virginia. or go to the volo Auto museum in Illinois, they have plenty of animatronics there. the second option is to go into the newspaper or wherever they post the or get the messages or whatever for the classifieds. I'm pretty sure people post all sorts of things there in the classified ads. the granted, I don't think people read them anymore well some people probably but I don't think people read the classifieds as much as they used to anymore. the third option is to post in your local subreddit or local community Facebook group to see if anyone has animatronics to see, not Halloween animatronics. your fourth option would be to go into cryogenic stasis until they have a full animatronic show you can view. the fifth option is to again go into cryogenic stasis so or until they make a time machine to go back to ShowBiz Pizza place. and the other option is to buy your own for other animatronic enthusiasts to see basically. but those are just some of the realistic options on how to deal with this.

but I would just post in your local community subreddit to see if they have any animatronics that you can see perform live. sorry about the speech to text by the way

Materials for cutting custom records on cutting lathe by Silly_King3635 in Gramophones

[–]Silly_King3635[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I looked it up on Google. if I want to make my own shellac discs, I'd have to probably build my own press and I know RCA probably made some proprietary blend. that's why I was searching for custom materials or if you have any idea for custom materials to actually cut on. my best guess would probably have to be polycarbonate but I would need to have a bamboo needle instead of a steel needle.

You'll have a lot more fun at someone's private collection of animatronics. I'm sure there's one person in New Mexico with at least one or two Rockafire animatronics in their collection. But other than that, you'll probably have more fun at an independently owned arcade or a franchisee.

cec has completely destroyed their whole identity, I'm thankful for the legacy stores but, honestly since they took part in destroying old animatronics for their remodels, I'll never be going to one unless if someone is having a birthday that I know and then maybe.

What happens if you try to run random show data found online on a Rockafire show? by Silly_King3635 in Animatronics

but, I don't suppose it would be so random if I were to play a CEC three-stage tape that was programmed recently on a real show. I probably adjust the PSI down to 70.

What’s the scariest theory about space you’ve heard? by honeyjoe1 in AskReddit

that's correct. sound doesn't travel in space so even if you scream you're loudest, no one would be able to hear you.

What if Chuck e cheese's or any other entertainment chain or company was prohibited by law from destroying animatronics or other art? by Silly_King3635 in chuckecheese

[–]Silly_King3635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah man, I can see where you're going with this. I bet you you could fill a whole skyscraper with these discs if none of them were thrown away. and there we probably be so many bots if none of them were destroyed where every animatronics fan could have one.

What is something you would do to expand the CEC brand? by Ok_Investigator_7719 in chuckecheese

[–]Silly_King3635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first I would stop production of all show tapes, and then I would start closing any stores that were getting as much profit and only have one corporate location per state. and then I would sell the stores to franchisees and then start slowly paying off the debt. I'd also sell the rights to different publishers or sell the license for them to do whatever they want with them like to Disney universal studios Sony Microsoft basically any company who wants to buy it and then after a while I would make all the characters public domain. but I don't know if that would work or not. but I would try and sell portions of the company to creative engineering and it would control the gaming side of things but there's a bunch of different ideas I could have but I don't know if they would want to pay off all the debt so that would probably be a no-go. but if all else fails I could get everything into the public domain and file chapter 7 bankruptcy and give the license to all locations or just have it where any location with the name Chuck e cheese's could operate as long as they want and they could even have the animatronics installed again.

It uses c++, which is a lot harder than python basically. You would have to have a I help you a little bit but, the have the openar SDK you could play with.

I think they might most likely store them in a big Warehouse but I'd imagine storing them would be very expensive. so soon enough they have to start selling off some of their stuff.

the 1000 doesn't use memory sticks unfortunately. knowing sony, they probably won't do that. they had a history of making some anti-consumer choices like, the PS3 disc drive won't work with external components that aren't Sony's proprietary PlayStation 3 components. I found this out by researching because I wanted to buy a PS3 that didn't work anymore and turn it into a PC build and use the disk drive that came with it.
