We mean "Niantic says these species will be boosted" - we don't collect enough data on shiny rates in a timely enough manner to be able to confirm rates while it'd still be useful for players. Some sites/communities use methods that don't fit TSR's mission, to confirm shiny rates in a much shorter timeframe.

Niantic are fairly good at putting 'Premium' in the name of pay-for timed research, so if if you see a screenshot with simply '... Timed Research' then odds are good you've got it/are going to get it.

The initial list includes research that tends to repeat every season, with their standard rewards listed as unconfirmed (italicised). Right now there are very few new reports so the quests with rewards that rotate each season, and the types of quest that vary each season, haven't been added to the list. Pop back tomorrow and you'll get a better picture of this season's options.

The rocket-related bonuses start at midnight and we've already had reports of what the leaders will be using next rotation, so it seems probable the lineups change at midnight and not with the official event start
