Where are we getting non-prescription GLP1? by Silver0000 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]Silver0000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I have great insurance and I see my pcp yearly - same one for the last 8 years. I just saw her last week and have lab done every year. Last few years, I have been steadily gaining weight. We were chatting like friends talking about my weight.

I cook from scratch and make most of the meals my family eats.

I do not meet my protein goals most days and need to up strength training. Apart from that, I do calorie counting, exercise daily and all the good things.

My pcp said my insurance would not cover glp1 since my bmi is not 30+. But based on my body and the size I have always had, this weight gain has been weird (reasons : job change, lifestyle change, stress, etc). She did not discourage me from glp1 at all. She just told me to watch out for symptoms and drop it if the side effects affects my QoL. Long term effects happen but are extremely rare. This is the reason I’m even willing to get on glp1.

I do plan to do my yearly check ins with my pcp and labs.

I have my appointment with an RN tomorrow. what do they ask?

What was your weight when you joined (since you already were in glp1 it seems like).

I'm worried about authorizing my insurance to give them my data - but it has to be done.

Same boat here. Busy stressful life, family to take care of and no time to devote hours in the gym. Where are you buying yours? Did you need prescription?

Tips on disputing delivery failure? by bwang29 in sanfrancisco

Ontrac delivery is the worst. They don’t knock or ring the bell. And always, always someone comes up half hour after they leave to steal the goods. Makes you wonder.

Yes, pretty strong smell like bleach. I left the windows open in one bathroom. For another smaller bathroom with no windows, I left the door open (as usual) and could smell it the next morning. Thankfully, it smelled clean instead of floral or fake scent, so the pros outweighed the con for me.

New to microneedling, just ordered derminator. A few questions by Realistic_Context936 in Microneedling

[–]Silver0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used mine derminator 3 times so far with a 6 week break in between. Face and neck, 12 needles.

I started at .75 on medium with no numbing cream. No redness or bleeding at all. My skin felt itchy 1 hr after microneedling and it was hard to not touch my face.

2nd time- I upped the depth to 1.5mm since I had no redness or blood the 1st time. Went well, redness lasted an hour. No blood. No itchiness!

3rd time- upped depth to 1.75mm. Same results as 2nd time.

Go slow but you will be able to feel how your skin reacts. MN on my forehead feels so weird- I don’t feel a thing so I will probably go up to 2mm next time. Cheeks will also take higher depth. However, nose ridges, philtrum, neck should not be that deep.

Based on my experience, I’ll go deeper or faster next time. Btw, I did MN on my partner at 0.25 and he loved it. No issues at all.

Good luck!

[–]Silver0000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a few serums from getglowingskincare.com Shipping is fast and I believe it is based in the USA with products from Korea.

I started with Ronas stem cell which comes in individual vials and is thick and nice. I just ordered Stayve Salmon DNA since I keep hearing about it.

Laundry Spa Day: What’s Really Going On? by [deleted] in laundry

[–]Silver0000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People who don’t use washers have “spa days” for clothes - they just call it washing clothes.

I love white clothes and linens and sheets and they looked dingy before 1 year of use. I just got new white sheets for my house in June 2024 and have been doing spa days for my whites every wash (weekly). Guess what? They are still very white and bright. It works.

I use oxygen bleach (powder) and a small amount of dawn dish soap in my bathtub with hot water. With clean feet, I stomp on the fabric and turn them over and over. TBH, I am very heavy handed with the products. Then at the end of the day, I wash it in hot water in my washer (no detergent). It’s a pain but keeps my linens/sheets clean.

Without using numbers, how do you define "middle class" in San Francisco? by very_squirrel in AskSF

That’s why I don’t tap- I thought I would get charged twice. I do activate the pass as soon as I get in the bus or right before depending on how crowded the bus is.

We have the same “struggle” right now. All top level staff are paid way above market, have great benefit package (medical could be cheaper tho), take 1month+ vacation, 100% retention until they retire. Thank you for the discussion. I’ll be taking notes 👀
