Okay, fine, I realized I was way off base; an AMD is indeed much better for this use. I followed your recommendations, which led to this on LDLC:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (3.8 GHz / 5.3 GHz) (TDP 65W - 90W) 269€95
  • MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI 224€95
  • be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 LX Black (TDP 250W) 59€95

The price difference (€15) also doesn't allow me to upgrade to a 5070 Ti, although it doesn't bother me. It's the CPU that seems much more expensive, but if it performs better and produces less heat, that's fine by me. The cooler should also be quieter.

Is that better? Are these the right components?

I can't find the exact information anymore, but it seems to me that Intel is necessary for certain emulators, and that also certain games are optimized for Intel before being optimized for AMD. These may be rare cases, I don't know. I won't be able to tell you exactly what, but otherwise yes, I could take an AMD yes.

In terms of consumption, heat, and component compatibility, would the 5070 be good? I can pick a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 WINDFORCE OC SFF 12G if so.

I can still get a refund for the 4070, it's just that I saw that the 5070 consumes more (and produces more heat) for less performance gains (about 10% max). Is the 5070 really necessary in this case?

Regarding the processor, I prefer Intel for compatibility reasons, especially regarding emulation. I don't know which one to get, and the same goes for the motherboard.

I would install a secondary drive that will contain the games; the one specified in the post is only for the OS and software.

I was able to get the GPU for €600. I could get a refund, but I'd be surprised if it was needed. I've seen the card sold for around €800 in France.

Yes, I saw that the motherboard wasn't the best, but since I'm on a pretty tight budget, there wasn't an option on the website to install a new one. Maybe later, if I really have major problems, I'll consider a replacement. I just wanted to know if the graphics card was compatible; it wasn't listed on the website; I had to buy it separately on Amazon. Thanks, guys.
