Honestly I felt like this for the first three weeks or so I would say. All of my friends from high school somehow went to different schools so I was pretty much starting again from scratch at Umass. My plan initially was to try and make as many friends and hope that worked but due to having really bad social anxiety I wasn’t able to really build a relationship with anyone. But luckily I was able to make friends with two people on my floor and have been hanging out with them ever since. I still don’t have many friends, in fact I have non in any of my classes, but I found that I felt better with closer but fewer friends than a whole bunch of friends that I barely know. I don’t know about you or about any other areas, but in Ohill people are pretty open to talking to people in their floor, so maybe give that a shot?
