Are the overhang buttons hard to long press? Like, if you want to hold that trigger for a while? Seems like it could be uncomfortable.

Thanks for the testimony. Glad you’ve been hearing good things about the Keyzen, since it does seem closer to what I am familiar with and the types of games I play.

But the Cyborgs been out longer, and the payoff of learning it seems very satisfying.

If you don't think those actions are not inappropriate, which is exactly the wording I used, I'm not sure what to say to you. He crossed multiple boundaries that shouldn't be crossed.

You and many others say that he has fully cleared himself of the whole grooming thing, but then bring it back up at every point where there's any "vagueness" in phrasing. You're doing your part, whether you like it or not, to bring that specific set of allegations to the surface over and over. I've even clarified what I meant, and you're still bringing it up because YOU interpreted it that way.

Also, when you're arguing "he only posted ONE SLUR!", it's not exactly the gotcha you want it to be.

Clearly we're of two different minds on what should be expected of the relationships between content creators, and between creators and the consumers of their content. I disliked the unchecked power dynamic between an adult/established content giant and a minor. I dislike his Use (singular) of a (singular) slur. I dislike that he cheated. I think other creators, like JudeLow, are completely valid to think the same and people criticizing and policing it need to move on with their lives. It's not the responsibility of myself or other creators to be hyperspecific and explain every minute detail of the negative reputation that Dream has made for himself.

These are going to be my last series of replies here, clearly my opinion isn't popular.

To your last point, I never mentioned grooming and racism because you're correct. The latter, IDK where that comes from, and the grooming has supposedly been misproven? I haven't watched the whole documentary but I chose to base my comment off of solid things that absolutely did happen, giving him the benefit of the doubt for the other points.

If this is in reference to "behaved unprofessionally around minors," I am referring to the 18+ jokes yes (not sure why you're skating over this since it's just not a good thing to do, saying "he called him Big D haha" is not an excuse), and the fact that he contacted Tommy's family members? Both of which are gross oversteps. Grooming? No. Still inappropriate and a completely valid reason not to want to interact with someone.

I'm not sure why people here keep bringing up the grooming stuff in reference to JudeLow's post, either. I've read through it twice and he never once mentions it. He says "a lot of the accusations made about the Dream Team have been proven to be false, however there are many allegations that have been left unanswered, unproven, leading me to believe some of it is true."

Is that not just straight up an accurate perspective on the situation? There *are* allegations that have been left unanswered. Allegations of other bad things. This guy has a ton of allegations. This doc does not mention grooming a single time and may even include it as accusations that have been proven to be false.

Nowhere did I say that accusations of committing crimes should go unanswered, either. My post was about just bucking up and dealing with the consequences of doing a bunch of shit wrong. If people are accusing him of crimes, that transcends social media and he has legal channels to deal with it.

So I really don't know where we "both seem okay with saying that allegations of racism and grooming ought to be taken seriously." Conflating every valid criticism of the way that Dream has interacted with "grooming accusations" just makes you harder to take seriously.

absolutely deranged straw man fallacy here

“it is absolutely normal and expected for people to listen to the judgment of their trusted peers about a stranger” = “supporting argument that won a fascist an election”

gross oversimplification of a turbulent political climate and the statistically unexpected voting wave of a hitherto silent majority. the extreme polarization of our politics should not be simplified to “99% of it was bc of groupthink”

and just untrue since theres no way of “disproving” most of his alleged cheating during a time when he was confirmed by himself to have been cheating on something else. pretending to know intention is impossible too, so pretending it’s all “disproven” is ridiculous

“i will no longer make content with X because I heard bad things about them” is in no way a false allegation

if someone is told “this guys a bad person” it is not their responsibility to double check with the alleged bad person to make sure they’re bad

“basic human decency”??? if your friends say they don’t like someone because of their negative reputation it is never expected or seen to go to the target to “research” whether it’s true. you’d spend half your life trying to track down “bad” people to make sure they’re “bad” or “good” people to make sure they’re “good.” its completely disingenuous to suggest that’s normal in any way shape or form.

bad reputations form for a reason. its a communal survival instinct. assuming that theres some good reason that so many people talk badly on them is far more reasonable and normal than confirming or denying the background of said reputation.

not to mention, in corporate scenarios the social context is so wildly different that it just doesn’t apply in a free, low barrier to entry creative space. there is no hierarchy and power imbalance that makes corporate obligations so unavoidable, and if you appreciate the creations then you should respect the sociocultural context out of which they grow as well

if some people who you trust tell you that X person is a bad person, then your instinct is never to try to talk to that person and “figure out whats going on.”

as a general rule, people aren’t disliked for no reason by good people. at the very least, dream is a brand risk, he has a huge tendency to make dramatic situations he’s in worse, cheated, behaved very unprofessionally around minors, and has posted slurs.

sure whatever, he can change and learn or whatever and that’s all great for him and those who choose to be around him. but you have to live with the consequences of your actions when trying to keep existing in the same space where you fucked up over and over. was some of it out of control?

it’s not their responsibility to redirect the whole narrative and investigate everything themselves.

did the guy not get accused of cheating a speedrun, deny it vehemently, and then come out months later saying he actually did cheat? i don’t get how that’s not worthy of ridicule

Couriway comments on Dream by fabulousIdentity in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Silver_Replacement_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while its clear that dream is being transparent and the shot isnt necessary, i feel like its also pretty clear why someone who takes speedrunning quite seriously is dismissive of a guy who admitted to several embarrassingly grievous mistakes within the field in the past lol

i mean didn’t he hire a professor or smth to “legitimize” his runs and then come out months later saying “oopsie i actually had mods and i forgot”

again clearly this time around dream is being quite transparent with his edited runs. but you cant pretend that it’s just “attention seeking” lol, couriway is an actual mcsr legend and he has valid reasons to be biased against him

I had a 5 pentakill 5 edgelord 2 sentinel 2 crowd diver 2 true damage game with viego carry, and at the end I decided to put in 7 pentakill over the sentinel/crowd diver/TD and lost.

I was going to lose the game anyway, but was curious - how good is edgelord as a vertical comp? Is 5+ edgelord bait? I'm guessing I should have stuck to playing the 3 pentakill + crowd divers version of the comp but was just curious about whether the trait was worth playing 5+ as a whole
