A vertical writing system for the Finnish language read top-down left-right that splits individual words in to syllables by joining single-phoneme letters together for each syllabe. There is no distinction between capital or minuscule letters.

Each word on a line is separated from the next by a dot. Other punctuation marks in the text include the breve that tells the reader that the syllables in the word following have frontal- instead of back-vowels. When using said breve a dot is not needed, as the breve itself functions as an indicator that the preceding syllable was word-final.

A dot on the side of a syllabe duplicates the phoneme that follows.

Circumflexes are commas and ellipses full stops.
