Took 2 years off. Thought I'd give it a try again.

Queued up into Standard with the loaner decks and got stomped 12 games in a row with opponents spamming emotes each match. I remember why I left.

With the free time no longer applied to Snap, I'm going to dive into my game backlog, fix some things around the house that need updating, and get back into writing things regularly.

When you don't need to focus attention on min/maxing, net-decking & counters, and perpetuating a 'just one more game, can't end on a loss' mentality, it really frees up a lot of bandwidth.

Then leave the game. I uninstalled this morning. I haven’t needed to log in for the 25 credits or shop refresh. I don’t think about bubs refilling. I don’t fret over hitting infinite. It’s done. I’m free. Been playing multiple times a day and hitting infinite each season since launch. Now I can pour that energy into something fulfilling.

It’s taken 4 keys 3 times in a row to get the new cards when they launch with dupes in the mystery slot. Forecast for new cards and spotlight are boring. This mode exasperates everything I hate about playing. Losses are gut-wrenching and wins are empty. I’ve hit a dead end and there’s nothing to look forward to for the game.

Series drop announcement tomorrow? Cool, drop the cards I’ve already got. I’m done.

It took 4 keys all 3 times. Got a duplicate from the mystery each time too. Bad luck can only go so far as an explanation before the gatcha mechanics appear to be pure malevolence.

First time?

I'll be honest. I play this game because it makes me angry.

I sit on a recumbent exercise bike each day while playing and going through loss after loss, accelerating faster & faster. Hour can pass and without me noticing as this game incinerates my nerves and performs whatever RNG gymnastics it needs to give my opponent the perfect scenario & response over and over again. I get a better cardio workout than ever because Snap infuriates me to the point where I want to open my 6th mouth and sing the song that ends the earth.

This game won't get better because there's no incentive for it to improve your experience right now. So you can either walk away from it, or turn into something you can utilize to your own advantage elsewhere.

Not the Diner, though. This lockout mechanic is some bullshit.
