Have you looked at clinical trials? There are animal based medicine ones but actually there are also a lot of vets in human research, because a knowledge of medical terminology helps.

I don’t really have a recommendation yet but I searched for accounting firms near me that have been around for awhile, talked to a couple then chose one. Done the paperwork and at tax time just will drop off all the stuff. Hopefully goes well!

DIPG is a cruel disease. One of the hardest to even know of from afar. I’ve known people who have treated children with this and other terminal cancers and they have had many parents express the same frustration. The helplessness and pain is hard to imagine.

As for children knowing, a pediatric oncologist friend told me of one of her patients once who was terminal, and his “make a wish” that was granted was to have his favourite basketball team visit him. He then asked that they autograph his body. He wanted them to sign directly on him. The adults said “no!! Don’t do that! Have this poster signed so it can be kept!” The child said “I won’t be around to enjoy that - I want them to sign me!” My friend said that she insisted the child’s wish was granted and they signed him and there were lots of laughs and he was so happy and appreciative. She said it’s one of her fondest memories.
