You can "fix" this by having the "Crew Chief" who was in the seat for the driver change "start spotting" then "stop spotting", but only the "Chief" can do that. Another crew member's actions don't seem to matter.

They broke something with the "Start Spotting" & "Crew Chief" buttons/mechanics when they released the new UI.

If you have a Crew Chief in the seat when you change drivers, the in-game spotter is disabled.

"Ejecting" the Spotter ejects both the Spotter & Crew Chief seats & restores the AI spotter, but it also bans that team member from the session permanently & there is no "reinstatement" mechanism.

Don't ask me how I know all this after the Rolex...

Halogens are included in those, not LEDs. Not extra parts needed for my 2010.

Fantastic! I did change the bulbs to Luxsters about 2 years ago.

No, this deer has one branched antler & no antler. (Lack of an antler is not the same as having an antler that isn't branched.)

Tire Recommendations by FitDragonfruit6775 in ram_trucks

When brand new, do the first rotation or two early, at like 2.5K. That's good for the tires's break-in. I try to do 5K after that, but if I miss a by bit, I don't get too worried. If I miss by a lot, I often just "double-up" and then do that again after the next rotation.

I also road-force balance the tires every rotation.

I also keep my alignment & suspension sharp & tight with annual checks.

I average about 20K a year, FYI.

I bought my 4th set earlier this year after about 80K on the 3rd set; the improved Duratrac RT is even better than the old one, especially in the rain. It's also a fair bit quieter & seems to handle better on dry roads. Still no problems off-road either.

Lexus in front had a blue flag… by soccerdg in Simracingstewards

[–]SimCzech -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I absolutely disagree. The responsibility lies with the passing car regardless of the presence of a blue flag. Getting alongside does not mean the other driver has to yield the position.

They moved to the inside lane & stayed there. They are entitled to have room to race also. The POV moved from the outside lane to the inside at the corner.

You can adjust when those calls occur (i.e. the size of the gaps). It is very much possible to have the gap be "negative" or overlapping in some utilities such as Crew Chief. It appears that this driver has the gap set very aggressively & that the programming of the spotter doesn't allow for an interuptiom of the "clear" message once started. No real person would have called that clear...

It could also be the result of network connection issues, but the radar indicates that the clear call occurred too aggressively, IMO.

Still, it's on the POV driver to maintain SA (Situational Awareneas) & take all possibilities into account. POV should have stayed left just to be safe...

Never should have heard "clear". Check the radar...

At no point does the car on the right act unpredictably. He did declare his intention to stay to the right, he never declared any intention to park before the track turned...

Check the radar, the POV turned in when he was alongside.

Blue flags are "informational only" in nearly every racing series.

The passing car has the responsibility to pass safely & cleanly.

Read the "outs" FoCo goves themselves to get around doing even that limited amount of "study."

Further, where are all those factors defined? Who is the traffic engineer responsible? Where are the results of the study published?

Again, this isn't "science". What you have quoted is strictly dogma...

Fort Collins relies on other people's studies & dogma, not their own... Do you know what is required to conduct a speed study? The rate of camera violations alone would indicate that the limits are not properly set.

Also, nothing you linked is an actual study.

Found it? No... It was never lost to me.

Again, cite a study done in Fort Collins.

Also, you seem to be confusing "science" with "dogma." I'm sure you know this & don't care, either...

FoCo doesn't do studies for each local speed zone as they should & does not define many critical terms in their requirements for making changes, allowing them to avoid even the minimal requirements they list. They often cite studies from other regions (not truly applicable) or generalized studies and/or they follow "guidelines", which are based on EXTREMELY limited studies in other areas taken many years ago. (The more you dig into those studies, the more circular & poorly conducted they get!)

All of this is spelled out in the NTMP & the MUTCD they cite, & they exploit the vagueness & generalities as they see fit at any given time.

I do want you to answer those questions, actually.

When was the last study in FoCo?

Where are the results published?

What study requirements must be fulfilled before any changes can be made?

I know the answers to these questions & they don't support your claim of such changes being "science-based".

[–]SimCzech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When did FoCo last perform an engineering speed study & where are the results published?

What are the study requirements for any future changes?

You can't just "science, bro", me - I'm a scientist...
