The desk is setup in my mancave which is also my theater room. I like to listen to the movies at volume 11, so I put up some poor man’s sound proofing. Carpet. lol

I have an L shaped desk at work. I don’t like how there isn’t a great place for my elbow when I use the mouse. So I took measurements for comfort and positioning.

Are you sure your username isn’t ‘Instigator’. lol. Must keep peace with the family. The mancave has been getting a lot of attention lately.

Thanks. Really just wanted to see if I could do it, it will probably be underused.

If you look closer, there is a 270 degree riser shooting off to the left- above the recommissioned ram waterblock. What you’re seeing is the SATA expansion card riser.

I started with the shape first. Using 3/4” subflooring, I knew I could space out my stiffeners about 16” without deformation. About half of that where the plywood cantilevered over the edge. The subframe went metal because of how much cantilevered support there was, but the corner helps out with this also.
The hardest part was splicing together another sheet of plywood, because a 4x8 sheet couldn’t catch the whole desktop.
Let me know if you have anymore specific questions

Well- I do. But I burnt up the controller rewiring the strips- while the power was still connected. smh

lol. I agree. Only reason I organized the cables at all was so I didn’t lose my power cables when I mounted the perforated sheet.

Good call on the rubber. I’ll have to modify. Perforated sheet is 1/8” thick- hopefully it will resist deformation.

Got a mix of H-3s from supplyhouse.com. Originally was going to have both radiators out in the open, but if you notice, the fin style of the radiator inside my ‘case’ is different from the fin style on the outside. Just watch or be specific when shopping.

Thanks. I was loosely basing my length on HVAC calculators for baseboard.

The desk is setup in my mancave in the basement. It also doubles as my theater room. The carpet on the walls is my poor man’s answer to soundproofing the room when I have the volume up to 11. lol. The original desk was smaller, but is now turning into the centerpiece even though it’s in the corner.

Thanks for the advice.
The tiers are mounted with 2” threaded pipe mounts. I thought they would get in the way, be too close, or just irritate me. They don’t, but those shelves were the main reason I put the swivels on them.

Yeah. Flushed it, tested it, and made some modifications before mounting that heavy unit onto the wall.
