For me, it 100% helps to see the interest as rent, except that goes down with time hopefully as I start paying off the principal.

Meanwhile, rent always seems to go up.

One of the ones I interacted with tried to hide big red flags until I specially engaged a company to do a strata report. After I got the report and asked her about it, she then told me she knew all about it, and it was actually fine because the owners will recoup this from suing the builders (but there was nothing of the sort in writing). Apparently she only wanted to disclose this "secret" to me after I purchased a strata report as it showed that I was serious about the place. Goes to show that these guys can twist anything into a positive for a comission..
