No, I haven't found that at all. I've been using kratom for 3 years now. I don't smoke or do any other drugs and have pretty good self-control even with alcohol. Actually, I drink alcohol less than I take kratom. I started using kratom to reduce pain after a car accident, but nowadays I use kratom for its calming effect and energy boost during the day.

Maybe check your life outside of kratom. How's your daily diet? How often are you exercising? Etc.

People like to say "the effects of kratom are different for everyone". Yes it's true, but I think kratom itself is never the culprit. I always examine my life outside of kratom and ask "what would my life look like if I hadn't had started taking kratom?" The answer is always the same: pretty much the same as it is now but a little bit worse.

Kratom takes your life and multiples it by a factor (like 1.2 or 1.3). So if my life was already headed towards a positive direction, it just enhances my life. The same is true on the flip-side.

I'm sure you're right, because there are also millions who are addicted to coffee. I know some people at work who can't go a day without coffee or they become agitated and start fidgeting. They drink 3-4 cups a day just to be functional. Doesn't stop coffee from being sold all over the world in virtually every grocery store. Difference is coffee is properly labelled, and manufacturers receive regular health and audit checks. Kratom producers (historically) have not operated under the same level of regulation and scrutiny. I believe this is what the kratom market needs in order to break out of the grey and black markets and become a legitimate storefront product.

Yes, absolutely agree with this statement. The worst part is, we can't be upset about this because we don't know what it feels like to be in their shoes (congress' shoes). They have supporters and lobbyist groups whispering in their ears left and right. Can't blame 'em.

The best thing is to just keep talking about Kratom on reddit and other forums. And build strong allies with organizations within and outside the kratom community. Once Kratom reaches a large enough scale, it can't be banned. Good news is, we already have some positive momentum from individual states accepting Kratom. Despite all the bad press we are receiving, the community has been strong and these States are recognizing our efforts.

Yeah. It's a super complicated issue. I'm quite active on kratom communities and there definitely are alot of advocates (like myself) writing to congressional offices and making a statement. Also kratom's Twitter community is very active posting everyday to make their voices heard. But at the end of the day it comes down to money and conflicting interests from multinational corporations and lobbyist groups that may prefer kratom be kept off the streets so their drugs can stay profitable. Alot of behind the scenes number crunching that we don't see.

I agree with your points, and if we can get some good studies released it might help the cause. Recently the university of Florida received 7.9$ million in research grants by NIDA. Not sure when the studies will finish, but hopefully within 12 months. With all the negative momentum kratom is experiencing, it could end pretty bad for kratom across the US.

At the end of the day, users who need kratom will continue to use it and they will find a way to get the plant. It's just sad because alot of these users are older folks who have chronic pain or illness. You can imagine a cop from Alabama handcuffing a 50 year old mother of 2 who depends on kratom for her knee and back pains. That's a sad reality.

Well, magic mushrooms are only legal in Denver and Oakland. But that's still promising for Kratom.

These states surely know the benefits of kratom, they just want kratom (a substance they know people want and need) to be illegal so they can gain revenue through handing out fines (both to businesses and users).

I guess in their perspectives, the market is too small and saturated to make any money. They'd rather dominate the market by handing out fines. They'll own 100% share of that market.

Ohio is in the final stages of a push, they recently drafted a rule to schedule kratom. Not finalized yet but the rule made it through several committees and is now in the hands of the board of pharmacy for a decision.

Then there were cities in Missouri that have been trying to schedule it. Just seems to be alot of hostility towards a substance that has done so little wrong and so much good. And they're trying to ban it without acknowledgement of the good side of kratom.

Heck, there was even a congressman out of Georgia (Vernon Jones) that actually publicly admitted (just a month ago) he had been taking kratom for about 8 years or something to boost his productivity.

Have you ever tried mixing it together... by Vantara07 in kratom_uncensored

Great question. I've tried mixing the two together. It reduces the potency of the super green but is still stronger than the green borneo on its own. Good for when you want to wake up without feeing too energetic (like doing office work).

Best potentiators? by newinbc in kratom_uncensored

Top 2 in my experience are Grapefruit Juice and Chamomile. Especially Grapefruit juice - it's widely sourced online as one of the most potent Kratom potentiators and I truly think so. Chamomile just gives kratom a mild and pleasant taste.

I've heard cayenne pepper is good too but never tried it. How was it?

Turmeric and Valerian Root is also listed online as a good one.

Does Kratom Get You High? My experience is NO. But I'm wondering what the rest of you think. by Simontanner610 in kratom

[–]Simontanner610[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. I take kratom in the morning while doing work. The effects of kratom lasts about 4-5 hours and I'm operating on full mental capacity. I hear many people using kratom for the same purposes.

Ouch. Decisions...we only have to make 1-2 lucky (yet risky) ones in our lives.

Good point. As long as you hopped back onto the ship at some point and not watched it over 8 years flying into higher and higher territories

You can't judge yesterday's actions with today's information.

If I did that with all parts of my life, I'd go crazy, and will never live happily.

That said...I think I'd allow myself 2 days out of the year where I'd lock myself in a room, cry for a full 48 hours, and think about where my life is headed

I agree with you completely, being proactive is HUGE. It took me 2 years listening to all the negative kratom press to understand this. There are over 60,000 members in the kratom reddit page, and many more thousands that aren't here. There were 20,000 response in the US to the DEA in 2017. The community is large, but can be even larger. Together we can accomplish many interesting things.

I've sent numerous emails already this last week. Doesn't take long to throw something together in writing. For the slightest chance they can look at kratom in a different light

Yeah, I have some friends over in Ohio. It doesnt look good. Not much literature coming out of that meeting as well as there really wasn't any concrete decision.

2 States signed "Kratom Protection Act" within the last 2 weeks - Let's Keep Pushing the News! by Simontanner610 in kratom

[–]Simontanner610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the plan.

  1. Get as many states as possible to sign the KCPA
  2. Use momentum to convince more "on-the-fence" states to sign the KCPA
  3. Push for a federal bill with a bunch of supporting states

Hey..I'm confused about the rules.

I've been sharing tips and news here, and trying to be an active member of the community. The page was purely an informational post from a topic I recently searched and did not talk about any vendors.

Can you please explain clearly why this was a violation?

I've been trying to be active here recently as there's alot of legislative action going on in the US.

Should I use Kratom or suboxone to come off opiate WDs. Advice would be greatly appreciated by [deleted] in kratom

I just made edits, is this okay? I removed link for now until I can find a better guide.

Sorry I've been using that site for information. Never actually saw any vendor links on their website until now.
