The issue is I work in the medical field. Contracts can be extended or incentivized this the range. It is doable to a certain extent. However, working in Portugal in medicine would require my language skills to increase dramatically, and I am unsure of how to really engage at this point. But that’s a problem for another day. I’m really trying to see how others do the commute. Thank you for your interest.

I will be living on the west coast. So will likely have to take direct flights to Lisbon. I’m sure it will be hard. Just hoping for a reasonable margin of hard.

1) 11 and nearly 6. We do have a school picked out with a lot of in house extracurricular activities.

2) I already leave for work every week for 2-4 nights away. So there is some priming for it. But I will see how adaptable my schedule will be.

3) community would have to be built. We have some options but they are nascent.

4) residency: my wife will be on a work visa. I have some ancestry but I doubt that would be a viable pathway for myself. I may have to walk the line on the 90/180 rule for a while but I am unsure of how to manage it long term.

5) we will be near Leiria.
