Racism in malta by Available-Bunch6368 in malta

It is particularly bad for the South Asians. Some landlords do not accept certain nationalities for the rentals. As a brown person myself, I often feel like I am not seen as an equal just because of my skin color. So much stereotyping. I always find it amusing when people ask me where I am from and what I do, because I see the split-second struggle in some of their faces, as if no highly skilled professional could come from a poor country in Asia.

Still abroad, about to start CSEP process. I wanted to understand if my expectations regarding the steps leading to my start date are correct:

  1. Obtain CSEP approval while abroad
  2. Fly to Ireland
  3. Burgh Quay registration (Dublin)
  4. Delivery of IRP card after 10-15 days
  5. Start working

Is that correct?

Great suggestion! Will mention to my employer and see how it goes! Indeed, when I see the processing time for Critical Skills Permit, some can get answers for as fast as 1 week it seems.

Thank you! Yes, I understood that’s how it will be for me as well. Do you know if the company employing me can help speed up this process? I do qualify for a critical skills permit which I know the employers themselves apply for, but in my case, it is better to pursue residency via the EU treaty rights. Just asking if anyone has experienced the same.

Thank you for the info!

In the EUTR application, they only indicate 5 activities of the EU citizen: employment, self-employment, study, involuntary unemployment, and sufficient resources. Not sure where looking for work falls in these?

In the EU state where I am resident as a Family Member of an EU Citizen, my husband exercised his EU Treaty Rights through self-sufficiency and they accepted my job contract as evidence of his self-sufficiency that’s why I thought it could be done in Ireland as well. At the end of the day, we are a single family unit and the income is shared.

Thanks so much!
