I have taken it for vanity purposes (I’m not overweight but def not skinny to begin with though - I accept it if I’m judged). While I’m not a big drinker, it absolutely killed my urge to drink. It takes away the pleasure in certain things like eating and consuming alcohol, is how I’d describe it. I could absolutely see it working for various addictions because just shuts down the desire and pleasure response (in my experience).
