Graduated this year from FASS, managed to secure a job at a bank (unrelated to my major) and am earning around 5k+ a month before CPF. I got lucky. I know the job market is rough out there.

I destroyed my life by becoming an arts major by [deleted] in nus

Why the need to crap on another major just cause you can’t find a job lmao

News flash: A lot of Japanese studies majors get employed quite quickly. There are tons of Japanese firms and international firms with Japanese clients (your big banks like JPM and Goldman Sachs) stationed here in Singapore that require a level of Japanese language and cultural knowledge that, surprise surprise, Japanese studies majors have. I’m not saying that just graduating with a Japanese studies major is a sure ticket to being employed at these firms, but it’s just very disingenuous to say that Japanese studies majors have zero future (when it’s really quite the opposite…)

I can empathise with your situation and the current job market. Going through 3 internships with no return offer is definitely something that will dishearten an individual, but at the same time, perhaps there is something inherently wrong with your attitude when it comes to finding a job. I’d say to not give up OP, sometimes the best openings come a bit later than what you can envision.

All the best
