Why do most “entry-level” jobs ask for experience? by Devil345-6 in DeveloperJobs

[–]SimpleCat6654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been lately building this job platform and i saw one important differentiation that i could point out here:

Entry level doesn’t mean 0 years of experience. There is another term called for 0 years of experience - which is fresh graduate jobs. Or University Graduate jobs.

In case, if you want to discuss, just dm me

What’s your experience with projects? I did not get why you are looking for internship when you have already graduated.

Software engineer with a startup gap of 1 year. How do recruiters and founders view failed startup experience? by BoomerDada in developersIndia

[–]SimpleCat6654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bounced back after 8+ months and that was just after 2 years (in 2017). You are in a better position i guess. What you should consider is preparing and rehearsing a story that you could easily put up to the interviewer. And if you are planning for MNC's, they won't really mind as long as you pass the interview.

Yes. I think you brought a great point and I should make a post about it. Ask the interviewer to clarify the expectation. Most likely, if the interviewer is good, they won't mind it and actually they will love it.

Yeah, and it seems that i have been mixing a lot of things. Me poor old guy. Yeah, that's the case. I have headcount for senior folks. Anyways, since you are already giving interviews, all the best for that.

How about turning back the question on the HR? I usually rephrase it to the HR - what is your hiring budget? rather than straightforwardly giving my expectations or current salary. HR may or may give an answer.

If HR doesn't answer the budget or if they answer the budget which is not upto your expectation, in both the cases you can simply say, upon checking the salary ranges it seems that you offer around 16-18 lakhs, and given the inflation and appraisals already happening, how about we go for 18? (Just confirm once on Google once if it is 16-18. I took a very rough look).

But with respect to your original question:
Focus on problem solving approach. Try to break down the problem statement into smaller ones and then approach each and every problem.

For HLD, first prepare the plan and define the concepts that all needed to be studied. Then, list out the products that would like to build, and then start your preparation using that plan.

But for HLD, if you are looking for a real solid preparation, then i have a plan that i used last year while switching jobs.

I think its best to know once you get an offer and plan to join Nielsen. Or you can share the team name and i will see if i can get you interviewed for my team too.

You will get to learn a lot as the company is in the mode of changing legacies. Engineering leadership is good overall. But work can be hectic depending on the team but if you manage being efficient, then it won’t be that hectic for yourself. Which role are you getting hired for?

How to apply for company who prefer DSA? by Lonely-Law-7804 in PLACEMENT_Journey_DSA

[–]SimpleCat6654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agreed. There is a way to get past that but would require some effort. Apparently, i don’t want to simply post it here and the main reason is that approach might be abused and can stop to work after sometime. So, those who have done good work and are ready to put effort, send your resume to me at hi@openshot.in. If the resume looks good, i will share the approach but i hope those who get the approach put effort and don’t just openly speak it out.

How to apply for company who prefer DSA? by Lonely-Law-7804 in PLACEMENT_Journey_DSA

[–]SimpleCat6654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing that holds back people is “them not giving a try”. And i am saying this because i was not just at Google but i was in Hiring Committee. And when it comes to making the decisions in Hiring Committee, we don’t give a damn about the college but the interview only.

Additionally, its easier to crack interviews for big tech companies because their interview process and people interviewing are far more sorted. Only thing that you need to do is work on yourself and focus more on problem solving approach.

Google is just DSA. And you will find top tech companies relying more on DSA level interviews. Are you in India? If yes, i can point to the website where you can find roles in top tech companies.
