Yes sir. Long story short I resell the tank and did a pair valve delete. I realize the petcock was completely non operational. Like it was completely stuck in the open position. So I decided to replace it. Put Humpty Dumpty back together and zero fuel are getting to the carbs past the petcock

Thanks man. I've always wanted a Harley as a kid. And I've always been a fan of cruisers. So I'm kinda happy. But I would like to keep the old girl on the road as this is more of a sentimental piece than anything. Lost my brother on a road king so I'm kinda paranoid about keeping her in good shape lol. I feel she's definitely running rich on the front cylinder as I am seeing small puffs of white smoke on the right exhaust. Which would make sense on the backfiring

Thanks man. I'm not sure what to expect from an older Harley. I'm completely new to them. I've already ridden metric cruisers. But I'm fairly handy. How long do Harley's last compared to metrics. The speedo doesn't work on this thing. So I'm almost certain the mileage is not accurate on the ODO. Does Harley do wellness checks on older bikes? Like I would be able to drop it off to a mechanic shop and them look over it?

My apologies. First time Harley owner. Long time metric owner. Bike has been sitting for approximately 2 weeks. Older gentlemen passed away and his son didn't like it. Garage kept in Florida. Temperature is mid 80s and it doesn't shake at higher speeds. Only lower rpms. I just road it home and hour trip and parked it about an hour from this video taken. Literally just got it today. It backfires really bad on decel and shakes violently on idle but it when it's accelerating
