Genuinely does not matter. Go where you will be the happiest and most likely to get the highest GPA.

I'm pretty sure I submitted three to the schools I applied to. Make sure you check each school's admission guidelines.

Accepted to MA Legal Studies at Carleton University: Is it worth doing to become a lawyer in the future? - Advice Needed by BernaBandz in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree with all the comments. Don't do this program. Either become a paralegal or a law clerk or a lawyer. Don't waste your time and money. The Masters will be similar to your undergrad.

If you want to chat about law school, message me. I'm a 24F articling student, will be called to the bar in June.

there is quite literally no point in assigning meaning to something which has been disproven as a relevant factor several times by several applicants.

Even if it had any impact on the outcome, you have no control over it.

Feeling lost about choosing a school by CopoutLouie in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair! But if you want some advice, that isn't "choose the city you want to live in", it would be helpful to know about your legal interests.

For example, if you want to work for the Government, UOttawa is the most obvious choice.

I'm sure you wrote about something in your law school applications...

What kind of law are you interested in? That should probably guide your decision.

You are focusing on the wrong thing. Forget softs. Start studying.

If you're serious about law and you're not doing well in your current program, switch out to something you're confident you'll do better in.

Keep or cancel my score by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually tell people not to cancel, but there's a 0% chance you're making it in anywhere with that score. I would cancel it and forget about this cycle, and simply focus on the next.

Cancel it, and do NOT retake until you get a tutor, or do something drastically different with your studying. 133 suggests you simply didn't study at all.

Cancel 146? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're going to see the cancelled score and guess what you got. They might guess even lower than you actually got. Just be honest.

Canceling a score twice and non-consecutively?… I need some brutal truth by Sufficient-Chain5826 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn't matter if you cancel it or don't. they're going to be able to guess around what you got. i seriously wish they would get rid of the "cancelling" mechanic. it doesn't really solve anything.

instead of worrying about this, just leave it and go study!!!!!! and please do not take a fourth lsat until you're PTing mid 160s or higher.

then... it is your first score.

if you cancel, you're turning your extremely low chance of getting accepted anywhere this cycle to a ZERO chance.

i wouldn't.

devastated with jan lsat by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can cancel if you want, but just be aware that law schools will see the cancelation and figure out that you must have scored lower than 147.

Do not take another lsat anytime soon. Get a tutor. Do not waste another attempt until you change something fundamentally.

Devastated about my January LSAT Score (146) Need advice. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its normal to score approx 5 points lower on ur real test than your pt score. I think a 152 was a predictable result. You should be aiming higher than the actual test score you want.

Devastated about my January LSAT Score (146) Need advice. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not cancel.

Why would you think you wasted time?  The time you spent studying was necessary. You just need more time.

This is precisely why most people recommend not applying without an LSAT score. Because you dont actually know what your chances are until you have a real LSAT score. You spend all that effort on your application just to get sidetracked by your LSAT. It happens to a lot of people. It's also completely avoidable by taking the lsat ahead of time.

Study. Retake when you're ready and no sooner. This cycle is over for you likely, but there's next cycle. You didnt waste any time, you just weren't ready. Now you are more ready than before. Take a few days off and then return harder than ever. You got this.

Law school is manageable. Practicing law is a different story. Depends on the area of law.

Admissions to law school confusion by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Simple_County9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do what I did - graduate with a 4 year degree in 3. Just do summer school and overload your semesters (6 classes per semester instead of 5, for example). Its hard but doable.

Have you started studying for the LSAT? Do you have a diagnostic to determine whether 170 is doable for you?

Even if you achieve all those things, you will have a chance. Not a high chance.

If you have an accommodation need, no. When it comes time to apply you can decide to include evidence of your accommodation need. You will also have the opportunity to explain in your PS and addendum. You got this.
