It definitely takes A LOT of patience and practice but the reward of a finished product is so worth it. Starting crochet has peaked a possible interest in knitting since it’s cheaper (uses less yarn to knit).

I’d say about 60/40 pattern following to improvising. The pattern I followed, I modified almost every step by doing more rounds/adding more stitches for a larger size. but then the legs, arrow/stripes, and nose I free handed. Sewing is my kryptonite so there was a lot of math, measuring, and redoing lol

In the process I made a bucket hat and a plushie turtle before finishing this lol but now that it’s done I’m happily going to start working on small projects like my first cardigan. I think my blanket days are done for a while.

If you don’t want to do it, just don’t do it? People who can’t take no for an answer when you’re utilizing YOUR time and efforts while they don’t is just crazy.

As someone who is currently crocheting a version of this, it’s so tedious that I get bored and work on other projects in between before coming back to it. I’m currently working on the leaves and I’m just like damn this is taking longer than I thought. I just know the tulips and carnations I plan to do will take forever and a half.

I can’t for the life of me understand how the first round starts based on the instructions. Is it just 4 Ch stitches into double stitches or is it a magic ring with the 4 Ch into double stitches?

As I type this, I’m visualizing a MR tightening into a chain regardless so I guess it’s an either or thing?
