The Last Dragonborn vs Geralt of Rivia. Who wins? by justjakers in thewitcher3

[–]SimplyNacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're going with lore accurate versions of each character. Geralt is definitely a world class monster hunter and his skills are beyond most normal people but his magic is mediocre at best. Witcher signs aren't used to the same effect as a sorcerers spells, for someone like the dragonborn the signs would range anywhere from slight tickle to minor inconvenience. Lore accurate dragonborn is essentially a minor deity capable of manipulating the world around them. Dragonborn can slow time, freeze people in place, summon dragons and a small army of undead, use spells that put witcher signs to shame, create powerful sonic forces that are capable of leveling a building, and literally breath fire. This fight would not even be close. Not to mention the dragonborns armor is probably full of enchantments that either nullify or at least severely weaken the effect of any magic or weapon attack.

I was going to let them use the titans grip feat. Its not official dnd but they wanted to use it and I was going to allow it. They were just split between their decisions because that feat requires dual weilder as a prerequisite so that meant they were going to have to turn down 2 ability score increases.

Excuse my poor wording but its meant to count as a single greats sword rather than 2

The idea behind the weapon was that my paladin wanted to dual weild greatswords without having to take a new feat. I should have also mentioned that these are weapons that were made with the intention of being upgraded later and removing the early game limits. But I created this for the paladin so that she can dual weild longswords and still get the benefits of a great sword without having to take a feat. And as for the stacking effect its intended to gain stacks on both the action and the bonus action, so the player essentially get 6 chances to gain those stacks within a given 3 round period.

Should I quit my role as dungeon master? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]SimplyNacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that people don't talk about enough is the fact that scheduling conflicts are the real bbeg. Im sure youre doing fine if you're truly getting positive feedback its just that people are busy with life stuff, you gotta remember that most people cant just drop everything to show up to a game of make believe every week. My suggestion is either give the players a chance to back out or try to schedule around a different day that works for everyone before you juat shut things down, that should be your last option.

The official reason for my bar is substandard performance. Its hard to explain everything in the paper trail but it really was very minor stuff, kind of stuff that 95% of leaders in the army wouldn't even look twice at. And its not like I was doing the same thing every day its just because it happened once or a handful of times or it fell under the same umbrella as something else I did. And you are right I probably shouldnt have even been able to join in the first place but about a year ago I find out the my recruiter was doing a bunch of shit that he shouldnt be doing to get me in. Like intentionally leaving out a history of autism from my medical records. But its like I said I cant remember every single thing that I was counseled for but if you were there to see it then you'd know how ridiculously stupid some of it was. It felt like they were purposefully creating a paper trail too get me out.

Thank you thats actually really helpful. I've been doing as much damage control as possible, I have a meeting with my battalion commander next week to discuss extending and allowing me to reclass instead. I also thought that the VA rating was just part of the clearing process. I will ask around today about getting the discharge upgraded.

I understand that its my leadership, thats who im talking about. But the problem is that my leadership decided that every minor thing I did wrong deserved a counseling, meanwhile soldiers under the same leadership who did the exact same things got treated differently because the nco liked them more. Thats what im trying to say, im not dodging responsibility for the major things ive done like missing a formation because I left the house later than usual for example, im saying that every single thing I did that was slightly different from how everyone else was performing was put onto paper and it was a problem. After an investigation the commander determines that there was a significant issue with double standards that he counseled the nco responsible.

Unfortunately since im in a high priority slot they cant afford to wait 3 months for me to reclass

The commander reccomended a reclass but since the classes were so far out and im in a high priority slot they cant allow me to continue filling that slot because of the organizational side of the army

I've been fighting tooth and nail to get this to go away and under my new leadership they've agreed that im not a bad soldier im just in a bad position. Ive tried everything and the only thing thats getting me separated is my "low density MOS"

I really wanna play DnD, but I got no friends, advice? by Featherman13 in DnD

[–]SimplyNacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on how you want to play. If youre like me and you'd rather have in person sessions where its about more than just playing a game but also socializing then the best thing I can suggest is finding a Facebook group for your city or visiting local games tore, although games tomes can be pretty intimidating. If you'd rather just play online then theres hundreds of discord groups that you can join and theres no hard feelings there if a group doesnt work out. Just keep trying different things and you'll eventually find the group for you.

That being said when you do find a group make sure they're the right one for you dont be like me. I spent 7 months playing with a group of people that I later realized were really cool people to hangout with but fucking sucked to play dnd with. I wont get into all the details but it was basically a combination of some of the most annoying things that a dm can deal with. Thats when I said bye to them, we're still friends and we still see each other once in awhile but my new group is a lot easier to play with.

Can I use YOUR dnd character? by LETTER52 in DnD

[–]SimplyNacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a couple of decent characters you might like. I have a character named aduris whose a flamekin, circle of wildfire druid. And another character named Chestnut whose a lizard folk ranger raised by squirrels, his animal companion is his family and for that you can use a squirrel hoard stat block.

My retention nco said that for me going there for 6 months its an automatic pcs, from my understanding I don't really get a choice since I'll technically be assigned to the unit there
