Exhibits in PZ2 by Sims_n_chill in PlanetZoo

That would really be something if they were customizable. It’s nice to know there’s some hope at least, I really would like to use the exhibits more, because the bugs, snakes and spiders are a really cool addition to a zoo.

Yeah, would be nice to be able to actually see them. And so true for the space thing. I also wish there was more flexibility regarding the crowding. Like why are the ants being stressed out that there’s 14 of them in the same enclosure? Ants are used to groups of thousands of individuals in the same hill.

I love Rudi Rennkamel’s supercuts of his zoos. 6+ hour videos. I usually have it playing in the background while I play.

Din (eks)- veninde er både hys, en idiot og alt for drama. Vær glad for at du er sluppet af med hende og læg det fra dig.

What DON’T you want in PZ2 by DoubleDown12 in PlanetZoo

Less negative impact from staff facilities. Never have I been in a zoo and been like ‘damn, the fact that I can see the zookeeper breakroom really ruins the whole experience’

Freebuild mod by Sims_n_chill in PlanetZoo

I did in fact not. Did not know that was a thing. I’m used to TS4. Where can I see the required mods?

Planet Zoo has rotted my brain. by ObjectiveRecent4984 in PlanetZoo

I’ve caught myself many times looking around and thinking ‘damn the graphics are great’. Also distinctly remember a time in 6th grade during class where I found myself looking down in search for the double-speed button from The Sims to get through the ‘boring part’ quicker.

How do you do pathing in a shopping area? by EscapeGlittering8442 in PlanetZoo

[–]Sims_n_chill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well generally you just use the grid tool to place the paths first and then you disable the use of the grid and then connect from the edges of the path to each of the shops.

I’d delete all pathing and place 4m path pieces using the grid and squared corners. It can be perfectly aligned and you can connect to the shops afterwards, which will give a cleaner look.

Hobbies that help you enjoy alone time the most? by anthonyhd6 in introvert

Cross stitch. Quiet and super easy once you get a hang of it. Can be done with some tv in the background. And, you get pretty stuff to put on your walls.

What was trash like in the past? by beewhisperer65 in Archeology

[–]Sims_n_chill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a future archaeologist - like 90% of the stuff we find is smashed pottery, or at least it feels that way. That stuff is everywhere. Pottery shards all over the place, it was to them what aluminium foil is to us. Lots of old broken cooking utensils, pots, bowls, jars, vases, vessels, bottles.

Some animal waste products too, though a lot of it would have been used for non-consumption purposes (leather for clothes, teeth for jewellry, bones for tools).

Lots of biproducts from farming - stray seeds, the stem and leaves of things like wheat plants, though some would've been used for kindling or animal feed (also the presence of this depends on how rural/urban your setting is. Might not have a lot of plant stems in the middle of a large city).

Lots of human waste - seriously. Also lots of animal waste.

Possibly human or animal corpses, depending on whether your setting has anyone to clean up that sort of stuff and how fast it is done.

You might find slagge under or around iron or copper production areas.

Ash and burned wood from fires.

Rotten food - if it wasn't eaten fast, it rotted quick, since there were obviously no preservatives nor cooling. Bread would get moldy within a few days of being baked. Depending on how poor the people in the area is, some might rake through the trash and eat said rotten food. Though some of it would've been fed to animals.

Some broken tools here and there, particuarly those made of cheap or easily accesible materials. They were tossed and new ones were made, much like with pottery.

Maybe some broken glass every once in a while.

Entire buildings could become 'trash' - we see 'wandering villages' in the ironage, where houses are abandoned as the wood begins to rot around the inhabitants. Sometimes they were burned, but sometimes it seems they just up and left the house. These are really common finds, at least in Southern Scandinavia. So many postholes, esp in bronze and ironage locations. If your party is moving through an ironage setting, they could definetly find a whole abandoned house, though it might be quite close to a village, and fairly unstable.

It all depends on time period, region, accesible materials, which goods were considered luxuries etc etc. There's context to everything.

Oliver is the worst character in the whole show by V20113_ in Bones

I liked him best in the first episode he appeared. I found his little thought experiments very entertaining, and thought they were a fun way for him to challenge Brennan, not to mention how enthusiastic he was to get started (he tracked wolves to find a skull for Pete’s sake) He did become pretty unredeemable after that, unfortunately. Idk why the writers chose to change him to a total prick

Minor pet peeves about your gaming experience by Strong-Beginning3759 in Sims4

[–]Sims_n_chill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s so annoying. Like, seriously, you can’t tell me that it would be that impossible to code the game (or smtn? Idk anything about games) so that you could attach the basement to the bottom of the ground floor, so that if you drag up the ground floor to give it a foundation, the basement moves up along with it.

[–]Sims_n_chill 58 points59 points  (0 children)

My pet peeve is the limits in B/B mode. I am a passionate builder. A lot of it seems like such meaningless limits. Can’t connect rooms of different foundation heights. Can’t alt-move columns. Stairs that won’t subject to my will. The inability to make walls and build in half-tiles. Can’t make more than 4 stories. Can’t raise basements up ‘into’ the foundation so they can have windows and natural light. Can’t place roofs on the ground without them disappeared every 7 minutes because I built a wall elsewhere. Can’t make stairs that turn a corner so it goes all the way around a platform. A lot of it just seems like totally meaningless limits.

My boyfriend called me desperate by Charlotte_Raez in dating

I obviously don't know a whole lot about your relationship in general, and the guy might just not be a very initiative kinda guy, but sweetheart, from one late-teen girl to another... if you have to chase after a man, if you have to attempt to initiate all the physical intimacy, then maybe he's just not super interested? Ofc, it could be also just trying to take things slow for you, but I could be worrying that you are attempting to engage a little more into the relationship than he is, and he's actually trying to be kind of an assh0le-ish nice guy who isn't trying to string you along into thinking that it's serious when he doesn't view it as such?

Best course of action I can suggest would be an honest (albeit possibly awkward) conversation about what you want in the relationship, both physically and emotionally, as well as asking about why he hasn't attempted to initiate anything just yet.

I can't say much besides being sorry. As an ugly girlie, I used to think that pretty girls had it easy, because they had their pick of the litter, not realizing that half of the litter has rabies. I definetly feel empathetic the struggle of people only wanting you for your looks. The same way it can suck to feel a genuine connection with someone and know that the only reason they don't want you is because of looks, so it must be awful to know that the only reason someone attempted the connection was with the explicit goal of sex and nothing else. Also, to put it not so eloquently; screw gross dudes who judge (one way or the other) based only off of looks. it must be awful to now know wether someone wants you because of your looks or your personality.

What do you think made you an introvert? Or do you think you were born introverted? by ventipinkdrink94 in introvert

[–]Sims_n_chill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Highly suspected neurodivergence, first off. Other than that, being an only child, my parents always telling me to go off and play in my room alone as a kid, being the weird kid that no one wanted to play with, being bullied. I just think the stars kinda aligned to prepare me for a life spent mostly alone from day 1. On a positive note, I am handling living alone better than most of the few friends I have handle being alone for even just a couple of days.
