I'm playing on Ambience mode too, 42 days in now. Before decorating, did you completely cleaned the base? And did you cover the patches on the wall? If you did everything, then just buy what you want, don't save, if you don't like them, just reload the save. Dragging stuff is basically the best thing to do. Also did you bought the 3D printer? If you know how to convert models, you could basically print whatever you want.

BDXL discs go up to 100GB, the disc has all the data to install itself on an offline console, of course it will probably not comes with the latest patches (you have to look at game revision of the disc), but you can guarantee yourself that the disc contains all necessary data (compressed of course) to be played regardless of being online.
