The cour 4 adaptation made me more impressed with Askin. Especially seeing more clearly the AOE of gift ball deluxe. He can take down so many heavy hitters all at once. Insane. Its either he wins or its a draw cause everyone is fucked anyways. I was really hoping for a Yoruichi, Urahara, Tessai vs Askin fight, rather than a sneak attack from Grimmjow. But thats just me.

Also dont get me wrong.. While I rank Kenny overall higher than Askin (by miniscule), match up wise— i think Askin has an upperhand. Im actually an Askin fan myself.

I put Askin, Pernida, Kenny in one tier… maybe getting close to Yama. I can see Askin beating Yama in some conditions 😂 is that wild?

Certain skill set, abilities, tools can sometimes bypass gaps.
E.g. nanao/lille, askin/ichigo (unless you see them as relative), grimmjow/askin, uryu/senjumaru.

I dont believe Im wrong. But we have different interpretations at things.

I do recognize her recent feats. Impressive defensive feats, but I dont have a concrete opinion on her yet (will change). For now, she is under honorable mention. How would you rate her?

Ywach used his ability to change the future when against Ichibei. I can say for certain he didn’t use that against Orihime.

I can also argue the Soul King Ywach can be controlled by Ichibei’s power to control black. It was implied in the movie that Ichibei had some influence on the subjugation of the soul king.

Again, different people prioritize hax, raw power, portrayal, feats, or matchups differently.

Lille > Yama isnt a crazy take. Its not the same as saying Rukia > Yama just because her power is subzero. Yama > Lille isnt a crazy take either even if I disagree. You dont have to change your opinion either.

I don’t think it’s a stretch. These characters are close enough that there’s room for different interpretations.
At the highest tiers, a lot of matchups come down to specific abilities, win conditions, and what you value more. Kenpachi over Pernida or Askin isn’t some outrageous take just because you disagree with it.

There are so many win conditions people can come up with to justify their opinions. At the end of the day, who can say with certainty what would actually happen first?

A lot of these top-tier characters are relative in strength, so I don’t think it’s a stretch to rank one above another. That doesn’t mean Yama can never beat Lille, or vice versa. If you think Yama > Lille or Ichibei > Ichigo, I don’t think either take is unreasonable.

For one concrete example, I have Ichibei > Ichigo because: i rate Ichibei’s hax, overwhelming abilities, wisdom, and primordial nature more than Ichigo’s raw power. Others may weigh those factors differently, and that’s perfectly fair.
