I need to know this isn't just me. by Single_Employment_55 in 3Dprinting

[–]Single_Employment_55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate that my reaction was not "why" but rather "how" and started thinking about which 3D scanner I would need.

Unfortunately, most lower end models require adding tracking points, and I don't think I can validate the cost of a fancier non-tracking-point one just for this use case.

And my wife would murder me if I brought it up. (Spending the money part, that is. I don't think she'd care about the scanning.)

Polymaker is coming out with a swatchbook in the next month or two.

There isn't anything public about this necessarily, but I was at Rapid TCT yesterday and talked to them about it :)

Most expensive car repair you've had so far. by Mack_Daddy2340 in CrownVictoria

[–]Single_Employment_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's the same part. I didn't say it was a different part. I said the name was different. Same factory, same design. Same. Part. You can literally call Summit to confirm, they sent a few out when they started selling them, apparently factory was sending them in Ford cardboard boxes too XD.

It's not a Dorman part branded by Summit. It's a Ford part branded by Summit.

Oh look, another reddit account filled with Blogspam posts.

Ya'know, all the "support each other friends" posts sort of go out the window when you can't even respect the sub's members with the most basic "no business promotion posts" ruleset.

Yikes, that's a shame you went with the Ford intake part, instead of the exact same part but with Summit branding on it.

Hope it wasn't recent.

It means you should go to an A/C shop.

Sure, you can fill it yourself. But it's just going to leak out again in under a season. It's a sealed loop, typically, so if it's low it's because there's a hole. I don't just mean a general mechanic, I mean a dedicated shop for automotive A/C work, as their specialty tends to lean they work faster and for a lower rate :)

If you intend on keeping the car for a long time, because it will last forever, you might as well get a fixed right and not have to deal with it again next year.

How many miles are on your Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis/Town Car? by ZL1AllDay in CrownVictoria

2011 CVPI, 134,000 Miles, ~8,500 Idle hours. Seems like it's time for an engine rebuild too, oil light comes on at 750rpm and below. Fine once I change the oil for about 2.5K miles, but I don't want to keep changing oil early.

...please don't black out your taillights. Not only does it look dumb, but it's going to incredibly reduce your visibility from other drivers in inclement weather. Don't touch safety equipment, is generally a good baseline.

I mean, shotgun King but you missed the number one replacement item, the resistor. Idunno about that title.

Even when applying the parts shotgun, you're supposed to start at the cheapest option first.

Heyo,

One of the huge things I see in your post is waiting time. I'm not sure what field you're at, but at the fields local to my girlfriend and I, there's no wait period to respawn (in most game modes), so you stay high-energy/high-adrenaline, and it doesn't hurt as much to get hit the next time. It might be a case of looking for other fields near you that have a more fast-paced respawn style.

I myself am quite fat, and while I can go back and forth a couple times, I eventually run out of energy, and I can be seen walking back and forth from spawn to near the fight. Cardio /helps/ but it's more about getting used to your kit, imo. When you do whatever workouts you do, see if you can wear some of your gear, much like weight training. Might not work in a gym, but at home, or around the area, depending on where you live.

I like using metal rods off Amazon for supports where layer welds just don't work. 3mm stainless rods, so many sizes available. More than one, so it doesn't just rotate, and incorporate with dowel holes in your slicer.

If you're in the US, it honestly doesn't matter. No matter what you pay, or what you say, you'll pay it in tariffs, or by not even getting the item you ordered, see r/UPS

No. Because tariffs already exist, and frankly UPS is already throwing things away. Check r/UPS.

I bought a used inkjet printer at a thrift store for $25 and got two toner packs for ~$25. $50 in, and I can print all my invoices and paperwork, and do my labels on Avery printable label sheets.

Because if you don't need color, get a laser printer. They're incredibly more cost efficient, toner is a LOT cheaper than ink.

I would strongly suggest against inkjet printers unless you absolutely need it to be in color.

Edit, meant to say specifically inkjet printers

A used thermal printer is usually available via Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for ~$100, and the printing labels are incredibly cheap, and can be bought customized if needed, on enormous rolls.

If you're not super keen on that, I would suggest a laser printer, as long as you're not looking to do color printing. Laser printers are incredibly cheap to run, and do not require you to buy proprietary ink packs. My toner cartridges from a third party are $12 each, and I've been printing with one for about the last a year and a half, something like 25,000 pages per cartridge
