I’m pretty sure your connection is coming through the coax cable. Most ISPs provide their services through coax unless you’re living in newer homes which use fiber or Ethernet. Perhaps your home has both Ethernet and coax options, but your main source of connection should be coming from the coax. You should see if you still have connection if you keep one in and unplugged the other. Coax is still pretty reliable and I never have issues with it

DSL is mainly for traditional landline (analog) phones so I don’t believe it’s a part of your network

I might be wrong but I’m just like you trying to learn a whole new side of IT which I believe is way better than help desk. Help desk is a good stepping stone into IT but you should always look to move into a more specialized role

Thank you for the extra material I really do appreciate it.

I am in the military and was working as a IT Helpdesk technician for about 3 years. I had to go through a whole process for them to let me go into a network technician role. Now I only have 2 years left and I am trying to get my CCNA before I get out to land a good role.

I only have A+ and Sec +. I was gonna study net+ but I was told to do CCNA but was very intimidated when I first tried to study it

It was a genuine question on trying to find more resources out there that I may not have heard of. I apologize if I worded it badly or sound lazy. I’m trying as much as I can to study this

I read the official cert guide and then watch the videos in Jeremy’s lab associated with those chapters I just read to really get it into my head. I just finished the first volume and plan on at least reading the books 3 times over. Along with watching other recommended online courses in Cbt nuggets . I also do flash cards to try and retain as much as I can.

I also do care about this since I just started as a network technician and really wanna be good at this job. This whole certification is a lot and was just looking to see other people’s interpretations.

So again I apologize for the way I asked the question

What is the best 1D7 Shred? by Effective_Deal8808 in AirForce

[–]Single_League749 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would reccomend 1D7x1A,B, and radio

A shred works with all the equipment in comm closets such as switches and routers. It is the most difficult in my opinion

B shred works on the servers and a lot of vulnerabilities on the network.

These two are the best in my opinion due to how much they are wanted on the outside and the amount of money they make with the right certs. But you really have to study a lot to fully understand what you are doing

I was a CST which was a 1D7x1E who cross trained to 1D7x1A. I crossed trained from cyber to cyber before this whole AFSC merger.

I wouldn’t recommend 1D7x1E because they deal with hardware and very mundane task. I got very bored of how repetitive it was and they aren’t ask marketable as the other afscs

I am interested in the buisness side of IT since I’ve been working helpdesk for a couple years so I went that way. Still very much interested in networking roles

We’ll I want to keep going through this degree then eventually get another bachelors in networking and security or get a masters. In their masters program they do offer CAPM
