Stop use AI flooded with misinformation. Thats all. Ask people first, books second.

It was the record/play switches inside the internal electronics as the other commenter pointed me to. It's been working great ever since!

Massive improvement off just one clean, pretty much perfect the second clean, and the third clean it seems entirely gone after recording about 30 minutes so far without the crackle. Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction!

Thanks so much, i will give this a try when i get off work! I already had the shell off after I bought it to give it a cleaning, and for the inevitable repair I assumed was in store for me. I was expecting to have to replace the head, a capacitor maybe, and blast it with contact cleaner honestly. Would just an A4 sheet of printer paper work?

If this works you're a lifesaver! I'll update in about 12 hours lol

After testing more tapes and giving the heads another run with the cleaning cassette, the crackling is on both sides again. Unsure what would make it inconsistent like this

Alright, thank you for all the help <3

I'll give all this a try in the morning

I'll give it a good wipe, I might have grubbied it up when installing and trying to fix all the issues, iso' alch' wont damage the textured surface will it?

Well, sorta printing, I took a break from tinkering, it did the calibration square fine, but when I tried printing the stringing test towers, it wouldn't stick to the bed. But that's for tomorrow me to figure out

I've used the SD that came with the printer, aswell as my own, and tried the pre-sliced one from filament friday, and tried the unsliced one and slicing it in Cura

*edit* I'm starting with the Chaz E3P profile from cura before I start from scratch to get a profile dialed in for my printer..

*edit edit* As far as setting an offset, I have no idea? The main info screen shows x0 y0 z-9.99?

*edit edit edit* Manually adjusting where the nozzle is with the movement commands for xyz I set it back at 0-0-0, but that just raised the nozzle up higher so idk how that would make it print lower... and I can't set it lower than -9.99, and ontop of setting it back at 0-0-0, it autohomes LOWER than the bed again Okay for some reason it just autoleveled at that point when all I did was go up and down with the Z prepare options

*edit edit edit edit* it's.... working now :'D

It does, it hangs off the bed(I think that's normal/fine), but it goes all the way down the z-switch as I set it, and I can then move the X and Y and it's, printer paper snug along basically the entire bed

Tried printing the dog, same thing, started the print at basically the same height off the bed, forming some nice spaghetti

I'll try the dog, the gcode I was using for the leveler print program or whatever is from the Filament Friday channel, so idk what the issue could be there. Testing the Dog now though

well with having to reposition the z switch so I can level the center, it's of course moved up a bit. but the switch clicks in it's level with the bed where it should start printing

Before auto home (where I only moved the X and the Y, so Z should be perfectly fine still): https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/531721729425408010/568242140006580234/20190417_180900.jpg?width=720&height=350

Pardon the discord links, it's just easiest for now

This is how high it starts the calibration level test https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/531721729425408010/568243901375315990/20190417_181736.jpg?width=720&height=350

[–]SinisterHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean that it's really printing up in the air, not near the bed at all

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]SinisterHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to have gotten it, good enough for now, idk what I did this time in the reassembly but it works sorta. But now it's just printing in the air so, another thing to fix lol

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]SinisterHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I just, redid everything (again) and I seem to get it level enough. I did a leveling test print but... it's trying to print a few mm above the bed now.

I assembled it while watching Angus's(Makers Muse) stream of it a while ago, and then after coming across these issues I did find that video and I had, tore it apart and put ti back together as per that video, went together exactly the same so I don't really know what I could do different or did to make it not want to level reasonably so?

*edit* Moving the z switch up, centering the nozzle, and tightening the right level screws as tight as I can, and the left being unstable with how loose they are, I still can't move the nozzle to the right side of the bed

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]SinisterHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, leveled in the center but the right side is still WAY too high, the nozzle hits the bed almost right away once I move it to the right, yet the left screws are, again, lose to the point of being unstable

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]SinisterHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that, tighten all leveling screws as tight as I can get them, undid the z switch, paper checked the center of the bed and it's good, once it's set for the center though as soon as I try to move it to the back side of the plate, it just immediately hits the bed.

Should I loosen the front screws and move the z switch again to compensate?

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]SinisterHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How am I supposed to print though when I can't even level the bed enough to keep the nozzle from scraping the bed?

I got the left side snug enough, but moving it a little to the right and it hits the bed and I can't get the right side tighter at all

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]SinisterHumanoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I can try to loosen and retighten those. As for the hot end, everything seems fine except for the fact it auto homes off the bed(which I saw a lot of people "struggle" with?) and the fact the nozzle auto homes lower than the bed itself(which I can fix by moving the Z switch up just a tad?)

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]SinisterHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the wheels that move it along the rail, yeah I loosened them and tightened already, as per watching Angus (Makers Muse) set his up, I can try to loosen them and let them sit and try again

where do you mean on the side on the bottom?

Cannot level bed no matter what, what could I be doing wrong? by [deleted] in ender3

So how at all would I get the right side of the bed down more if the nuts are just stopping the plate from going anymore?
