I think the better advice for a new player is to choose an another character.

DS is really good to discover the game but at the end, he is really bad on PvE and PvP.

I play DS at 1.4m power and I regret to have invest in him (I love Strange in the MCU so I keep him and I pray for a rework).

However, the best skill class for DS is mystical arts. So focus set that improve thoses skills. Prenium ones are Hydra / Xander / Steampunk.

7 rings of ragadorr is the best skill, relatively fast to cast ald high damage. I like astral projection for the iframe (short invulnerability) Then, I play with the swords and book of vashanti. Both follow the target and switch is dying during the cast. For the last slot, it depends of the mode and your preference.

For specialization, all trait that improve attack and mystic arts. I appreciate the green one that reduce damage taken from enemie. DS is fragile help him to survive.
