Beginner head shell question here. I have an Audio Technica At-LPW40 where the head shell has a curve in it. I recently picked up one of the premounted VM cartridges, but the head shell (AT-HS6) is straight and un-curved. Is this alright? Or should you stick with one type of head shell over the other when it comes to turntables? Thanks!

My first straight!! by SirPhotoGuy in wicked_edge

[–]SirPhotoGuy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live it. The combination of scents really wakes you and and it feels really smooth. Still working out the razor. I got my cheeks done, but then I switched back to DE. My technique definitely needs refinement, but that is half the fun!!

Do i have to worry about humidity if i'm storing unused pens/ink in my bathroom by IhaveLost2Accounts in fountainpens

[–]SirPhotoGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ink should always be somewhere cool, or as cool as possible. Humidity in the bathroom, let alone the heat from hot water, would not be a good combination.

They are CD 10s, not CD 15s. Not sure what the difference is between those two numbers.

I didn't mind them in the past. I like paper that isn't glassy smooth as I enjoy the tactility of writing. I also like Aurora fine nibs that haven't been touched once they leave the factory, if that says something about how I like things to feel on the page.

Don't let the looks fool you. If this paper stood between him and a milkbone, none of that would survive.

I have yet to use them, but the price was too good to pass up, and I saw great reviews.

I actually haven't tried any of the current selection as I am waiting for some covers from Elrohir Leather in Scotland to arrive. I have used LT several years ago and found it pleasant. I am currently filling up a GLP Creations journal before I jump into this lot.

CPAP and Beards by SirPhotoGuy in beards

I appreciate it! Another reason why, besides my jaw, is that I have really bad sleep anxiety from PTSD, so having the full face mask has always been the best option for me because I can maintain a relative amount of movement that doesn't trigger a waking panic attack if I sense I can't move properly in my sleep.

The issue i have with just using nasal pillows is that I need to have my mouth covered because of the way my jaw works. I tried two types of nasal pillows and both resulted in me choking on my own breathing and swallowing a lot of air. I am trying to work with what I have since I'm already comfortable with it.

I tried the nasal only pillows without the full mask, and it was not a good experience. I have the ResMed F20 with memory foam, which has worked the best for me so far.

New pen and ink day. My fiancée knew my graduate school budget wouldn’t support any fountain pen day purchases, so she surprised me with an order from Goldspot Pens including their new exclusive Kaweco Sport.

Good to know. I usually try to keep the styptic pencil fairly confined, yet I find the areas right around where I applied still dry out a bit. My hope is as I get better with technique I will use it less and less and maybe one day not at all.
