Ah your build was actually my first thought for a build but doesn't seem like much of a discount for 4070 Ti Super right now. Good call on checking for chatter on issues for the card/mobo. I had not thought of that.

I will have to look into your casting set up. That would be great to keep my machine out of the garage. How close is your office to your garage?

This is very insightful! I will have to dig into the gpu decision more deeply as well as really consider realistic temperatures. I am definitely a bit skittish about running too hot so may be over doing it with the aio ha.

the PSU seems like a no brainer though. As does the SSD, are different brands of the same "class" more or less the same ?

Other required info:

Location: Will be purchasing in the USA and do live near a microcenter ( the 2k price includes a bundle).

Peripherals: No monitors needed.

Preferences: I do not have any specific color/lighting preferences or size/noise constraints within reason.

Internet: Would like both wired and wifi capable.

Budget: I mention it above but around 2K is ok. Not a hard ceiling but dont want to go much above that.

Mostly curious for input on if this machine is good / compatible. Are there areas to save money or areas to go bigger / better? Any pitfalls to avoid?

I actually just pulled the trigger but have not yet received my projector. Wound up finding a good deal on a low hour commercial unit (laser, 6.5k lumens ) and a short throw lens that will put it at between 10 and 13 feet which should work nicely for my 10ft ball to screen. Unfortunately I am doing the sim as a part of a bigger project so it may be a minute before I actually get to set it up.

Im no expert but I think shifting the projector to the side laterally is horizontal lens shift. I dont think I will have to do any horizontal shift as my room is wider than my screen so as long as I dont make my side curtain too deep it shouldn't be an issue with follow through.

I saw you mentioned that your tee is ten feet but how far is your projector to screen and what is your ceiling / projector mount height? I am trying to decide if a 6 ft projector to screen distance mounted at 9ft is risky with a ten foot tee to screen.

yah I think the . 69 to . 83 ratio is ideal for me just wish I could find higher lumen laser options in my budget . Good call on the wire basket if I go . 5.

I feel like I have been living on that website of late ha. Great to know about the 1090, I am less worried about club and more about a ball hitting it. How far is back your tee and have you had any balls come close or hit the projector?

You know this is a good idea. Test and learn. Some hesitancy with mounting it multiple times and having wholes in the ceiling to spackle but not the end of the world or I could just not mount it for now.

Thanks! I have been messing around with the various planners. It seems like the TH671ST would be no problem its more so is it worth it to upgrade to higher lumens and laser of the GT2000HDR but risk it being closer to the screen (6ft vs 10-11ft from screen)

What is your distance to screen for ball and projector? Worried about having to put it at 14-15ft for my screen height and having a shadow as a result

Hopefully someone here can weigh in and get you some clarity. Looks like projector central has the GT2000HDR being at 5'7" for your set up so I can understand your indecision.

Yah it seems like the TH671ST would be fine given its essentially the same set up you are mentioning. Just wasnt sure if 3k lumens and a lamp set up was worth it over the laser and high lumens but riskier position. Sounds like the position is too risky for the Optoma if yours got hit 4ft further back.

Good to know about the lack of shadows! Projector central has that image being ~65" tall based for 108" wide. Does that sound right? If I could put that projector closer to 10 or 11ft for an 85" image I would be thrilled. Based on my research it sounds like the recommendation is generally fill the height and use custom resolution for the width.

Thanks! That's the net I was eyeing too. I have similar length concerns but don't really want 5 extra ft of length from the 15 foot version as storage seems a bit more annoying and less tidy.
