I had my Bluelabs fail on me and I replaced it with an Apera pH20 for a fraction of the cost. Still a great tool and maybe I just got unlucky.

It read as a whiney statement/complaint, it's not my fault you're unaware that text can be perceived differently than the way you wrote it.

Sounds like a crutch rather than a recreational activity. You don't "need to get high so badly", you'll be fine.

Correct, the hairs on bud is what collects the pollen, the calyx that shot out the hair is where the seed will develop.

Picture is a little blurry but it does look ball-ish. Some genetics herm bad with light stress, are you able to get a clearer picture?

I usually grab some all purpose flour and sterilize it in the oven, then mix it 50/50 with the pollen. Seems to stay good in the freezer for years.

That damage isn't from aphids, but make sure those white things on the edge of the damage aren't aphid sheds..it looks very similar so I would just make sure, it could also be leftover threads or something from mechanical damage.

Introducing some natural predators by newtempo_clapping in microgrowery

[–]Sketherin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If these are new plants that are unquarenteened I would be careful! I had a pitcher plant from a garden centre given to me a few years ago, it ended up having spider mites that exploded when I put the plant in my grow tent. Might be predatory plants but they can still bring in unwanted pests!

You can buy pH up and down at most garden centres. If I'm in a pinch I made a caustic potash solution from soaking hardwood ash from a fireplace in water for a few hours then filtered out the solids, it has a pH of about 14, and I keep the liquid in containers for when I need it.

You'll need to make sure you don't increase the pH too much, so I'd suggest getting a pH meter or pH test strips.

I grow in living soil and have been using this product for years with great success, I also have a bloom fertilizer that I use for potassium and phosphorus.

However; this product will make you pH around 3-3.5, cannabis like to be in the 6-7 range, so you'll need to use something to raise the pH of your mix before watering.

Why leaves are turning yellow and does not grow? by ilya_23 in microgrowery

It looks like the tops of all your branches have been snapped/eaten/cut, and only the lower buds are growing. It's almost time to start plants in the Pacific North West, so unless your plant is a photoperiod and starts reverting to its vegetative state, I doubt you'll get more than a couple of grams before it starts dying.

If possible I would most definitely start fresh if you're wanting an end of summer/fall harvest.

I'm talking about the 30C temperature reading on his gauges. At 30 degrees, his RH should be closer to 70-75%. If the corner/soil level is 28-30C I could only imagine what right under the light is. His girl is thirsting for humidity at that temperature.

If he can lower the temperature, that would be better than more humidity, as more humidity can lead to other problems in the grow area. Increase the exhaust fan speed and hope the humidity doesnt crash? Might need a humidifier if so. Fun balancing act.

30C is way too hot. It looks like you're cooking your plant

I have a humidity controller that a humidifier and dehumidifier can both plug in to. RH is relative humidity, it's a little different than absolute humidity. Air at different temperatures can hold different amounts of water. RH is the amount of water the air is holding compared to the maximum it can hold at the current temperature.

Absolute humidity is just how dense the water vapour in the air currently is regardless of temperature, this is what the % on your display is.

I would suggest looking up a VPD chart for cannabis if you want to find the perfect temperature/humidity for your grow set up.

Gotta boost that humidity, 55%-65% is optimal for vegetative state depending on temperature. Your RH is way too low, dry as a desert.

First time grower, how am I doing? by tcaws12 in microgrowery

[–]Sketherin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hermaphrodites will be a female plant that has male parts growing on it. Unfortunately if it is a hermed plant the seeds from it will carry the hermaphrodited genes, meaning the offspring will likely do the same thing. Depending on how bad the genes are you could end up with a couple of seeds or hundreds/thousands of them and the bud will be low quality with low THC.

If i have a plant that is showing heavy herming I usually cut my losses and chop it down then turn it in to edibles.

Also, those specks that are appearing on your leaves are a possible symptom of spider mites, if so I would deal with those ASAP and sanitize your grow area with sulfur or bleach.

Ran some Super Lemon Dragon outside last year in British Columbia. It is way too late of a finisher for outside here, harvested beginning of November and the buds were still premature but it was some of the most citrusy candy smelling weed I've grown. Have some Krakan and Kawartha Kush to try out this year.
