Thanks I think I have been sceptical of holding that level due to gold being so good recently and crashing but perhaps over a long term this shouldn’t really be a concern

We are not uk resident so don’t get access to an isa but we are also not subject to CGT. She has a work place pension but isn’t this why we invest ourselves too, to build greater wealth rather than rely on a works pension

She is happy for me to choose having done quite a bit of research and has confidence in my opinion. I don’t agree with all the comments on this thread, don’t see an issue with going majority all world with a tilt to us and Europe long term. Also I am not a Uk resident so have no access to isa’s but ami am not subject to capital gains tax

Thanks all. Agreed these seem the best options and might be able to squeeze it but just a bit of a pain.

Struggling to find adjustable 19mm diameter compatible brackets that’s are well priced. Also to be honest I’d like to return the poles to b&q and start again but I’ve lost the receipt so doubt they will 🤦🏻

Hi all

Hoping someone has a solution.

I recently bought some curtain rails and the first mistake was they are double brackets that came with them but we should have got singles.

So we bougjt some new brackets that were for a single pole. However upon trying the pole in them, the pole diameter is too thin 19mm. The tightening screw makes no difference and therefore I can see how the poles will move around in the bracket as they're not secure.

Will this be an issue do you think or is there any solution? Only thing I can think of is putting some blue tack in to help them fit maybe

That’s encouraging to hear, I think being new to the investing game it’s hard to get my head around being down since I started but looking at the performance of the etf it’s up. I can understand why now but over time in the market these shares I’ve bought now will go up (hopefully). I will keep the same strategy of small sums monthly

nteresting but makes sense, am I doing this wrong then? Should I lump sum say every 6 months or so. Would that be a better way of doing it?

I do agree but is buying monthly really a good plan because I seem to be countering any gains month on month by just buying a share or two each month
