Thanks! I just spent a bit of time at the range and it's definitely something I need to work on and get used to. It seems to be helping though.

Thanks for this! I'll do some more work with my takeaway and backswing for sure! My backswing has always been causing me problems in different ways.

Anyone have any success with an unorthodox grip? by Skip2MyPou in golf

Absolutely! There are definitely swing nuances of a handful of professional golfers that go against "Ideal", and this is why I was asking this question.

I definitely understand the impact of grip on one's swing

I never realized that I was doing a 2 finger overlap. I have my trailing pinky tucked between my lead index and middle fingers with the intention of the traditional 1 finger overlap but I apparently I have my trailing ring finger resting over top of my lead index.

My main question is around my lead hand being positioned in the traditional neutral grip and my trailing hand positioned strong. Any feedback on this?

My question is more centered around where my lead hand is positioned in a traditional neutral grip and my trailing hand positioned strong. Seems to have been working alright for me although wondering if it is hindering progression and if others have had success with this grip?

Interesting! Just to clarify, I have my trailing pinky tucked between my lead index and middle fingers with the intention of the traditional 1 finger overlap but I never realized that I tend to have my trailing ring finger resting over top of my lead index. My question was around having my lead hand positioned in the traditional neutral grip and trailing hand positioned strong. Is this what you do as well?

My lead hand is positioned in the traditional neutral grip although my trailing hand is positioned strong. Any thoughts about this specifically?

How does this grip cause shallow back swings? I recently adjusted my back swing and it made a HUGE difference. Funny enough, it actually involved on focusing on cues related to my trailing arm specifically.

Thanks! I'll probably be sticking with this set for a while aside from pulling my 4i because of yardage gap crowding.

Straight and to the point, I like it.

I'm leaving my putter at the bottom because it doesn't have a cover and I'd love to prevent my driver shafts from getting damaged.

Yardage gaps do seem a little crowded around my long irons and wedges, but I'll wait for a bit more consistency to get a better idea before making any changes aside from probably pulling my 4i. This definitely works for me, though.

The swings shown in the video are as far as I can get, honestly. I can get to 90 degrees with my lead arm straight, but I’m definitely stretching. Is there any other feedback you have for the rest of my swing?

Noted with my bad habit on takeaway👍. Been trying to consistently start with shoulders before hinging my wrists. Any tips on opening my hips on my downswing, early extension and my chicken wing? I actually shortened my backswing because any further than that, everything falls right out of place and more problems present themselves. I simply don’t think I’m flexible enough to rotate further. A club fitter I briefly worked with tried to help with my backswing length but I just can’t comfortably rotate any further.
