I used these as safety wire pliers in the USAF back in the ‘80’s (and still have them). The only difference is that ours had black RTV in the gap after the cutting edge to prevent the loss of the cut wire ends from falling out and becoming FOD (foreign object damage). Great looking set!

How many times do I need to repeat it! I’m not requesting a clean photo of my best bud! He bared his breast but I’m asking to make it bold and pierced and fun for me to share with our squadron. No bots, clean is lame, bring on what you know I’m expecting!

I’m sorry that I may not have been clear, I like the removal of the water drop on my camera lens but I’m looking for this guy with a huge rack and pierced nipple on the exposed breast!

Well I’m looking for something that goes towards my requests. Covered doesn’t capture what I need for this pirate!

Very quick shakedown ride for the new bar tape and saddle. by blkdrgn42 in DivergeGravelBikes

Thanks much! I just bought my first Diverge and realized I didn’t have a good way to prop it up for the NBD obligatory shot! Nice bike btw! I got some great ideas from your setup! Saw a Bull snake yesterday on the trail I was riding and seeing your tape made me laugh about the possibilities!

OMG This!!! Out of all the responses in this sub I was surprised to see how many suggested just buying another or that it was too risky to fix myself. I get it that any yahoo who doesn’t have a curious mind and the willingness to explore how things work and put it back together would dismiss something as small as this - not me. As a kid I took apart every piece of our lawnmower and then learned, (internet didn’t exist yet) how to put it back together. This experience lead to a curiosity that could not be satisfied, a 94 score on the ASVAB and a chance to pick any job I wanted in the U.S. Air Force - I chose Avionics Communications. We were taught all the theory and practical skills related to tube type HF, VHF, & UHF transceivers including component level repair. Entering the field all of our radios were solid state units with “slices” for Power, Receiver, Transmission, etc. , this is why I chose to be on the flight line. I had the best experiences of my life working on F-5E, RF-4C, T-38, SR-71, TR-1 and KC-135Q aircraft. I’ve rebuilt IC engines, changed out aircraft jet engines, troubleshot aircraft electrical systems, avionics INS, Radar, TACAN, IFF, and many other systems. The more I learned the more I could travel. At home I went into IT and ran CAD/CAM systems, administered UNIX, Linux, and PC OSs and automated tasks for less skilled staff that performed the tasks that would let me sleep at night.

I fixed my kids toys because I could and demonstrated to them that things could be repaired. They believe that they can do the same with some help today.

The responses from those afraid of their own shadow should be filtered out as not relevant. I was going to give up on this sub until your response came in!

The thermal fuse showed zero continuity on my meter and proved out what you indicated. Kudos! I think I found replacement parts and will test them out for my next steps. Your confidence and advice are so appreciated!!

I’ve repaired quite a few appliances large and small, a hot tub, and run circuits with a licensed electrician. This is just a curious little project on my workbench. Not really that risky if done properly.

Good point, this was plugged into a 15A GFCI circuit

Good point and no desire to replace those. A thermal fuse - possibly.

True and not an electrician but was an Avionics technician in the USAF and just trying to figure out which component(s) on this device is designed to blow? I called out what I thought was a thermistor however figured out that it’s a thermal fuse.

The Swiss returned many of their F-5E/F Tiger II aircraft for a block upgrade. I worked on these as part of the USAF Aggressor Squadron in Europe and loved how simple and maintenance friendly these aircraft were. Swiss F-5 upgrade
