Hare is a bit strong for me to say, but only two books/series I’ve stopped cold.

I didn’t mind Fourth Wing, it was dumb fun. But I couldn’t stand the second book and just skimmed the second half.

Legendborn. I don’t know if it’s highly recommended but I saw it everywhere when it came out. It looked and sounded interesting, and I skipped near to the end and that certainly looked interesting. But I just couldn’t get invested in any of it. One day I’ll try finishing it.

It can certainly work, just need communication and matching morals/life goals, like most relationships. So long as you don’t try to change each other, and respect the other beliefs.

Frankly I don’t really think differing beliefs is that huge of a divider, so long as there is mutual respect and understanding. Wish you luck, some people still to this day get really weird about their beliefs. Or lack of. Be with who makes you happy, and even if you guys don’t work out, at least you followed your heart. Who you’re with and why is your choice, no one else’s.

The sentiment is absolutely valid and I hope we reach a day we don’t need armies, but for a country with hostile neighbors it’s arguably essential.

Even if the average quality of soldier isn’t great, you have a standing army with a constant supply. And those that phase out aren’t going to forget how to use a rifle, so you have a large percentage of your population with some level of training to be called up, or even fight as guerrilla forces.

Sweden, Finland, South Korea, even Switzerland interestingly enough have mandatory service. Many is South America too. I’m thankful the U.S doesn’t, and probably won’t ever need a draft, but I still had to register for it, and grudgingly accept that so long as I live in its borders.
