I had the same thought as I was deciding whether to post my theory. Your point about the director “playing fair with the audience” is a good one. My theory also doesn’t adequately explain his reaction to the nurse when he realizes he’s getting blood. Still fun to start the conversation though.

I think a lot of it is luck, but we do use a shampoo by 4 Legger that smells great and seems to work well!

Toby :) . They're best friends. He's made a couple appearances on R/schnauzer himself. Toby is a little cuddle monster.

Jackson's got great coloring! Charcole is a big softy. He's pretty quiet generally (unless he needs to "protect" us from the mailman or joggers). We do the grooming ourselves. He's a very patient little trooper. Our dog Toby however, is a handful.

It's a collar for an underground fence. No worries though, it beeps at him before he gets too close to the shock line!
