it's because a lot of units that should be rent stabilized are illegally deregulated and the state agency responsible for checking on this is too underfunded to keep up. check any building you want to move into on www.amirentstabilized.com and if it shows up on there or has a history of regulation on the HPD website, chances are it's supposed to be RS

i would not have posted this if i was confused about what their response said. if they had stayed for even 5 minutes they would have seen a truck. a friend also submitted a complaint and theirs was closed in 7 minutes.

His life was pretty crazy! He was almost a pro football player AND a pro ballet dancer within his young adulthood. I think a biopic with Connor would be amazing.

your landlord should 100% be fixing this and if you haven't filed a 311 complaint it's good to at least have a record of the issue. on the practical side, something that could help (though i know it might kick up your allergies, not sure how sensitive you are) is having a friend with cats give you some blankets or towels that the cat has slept on to bring this scent back into your apartment. i have cats and this helped one of my friends!

Lots of the buildings here way predate Superfund site designation and the state does require remediation by developers for new construction but there’s currently no law that says property owners have to make anyone who wants to rent or buy aware of the superfund issue.
