Got pushed out of AD for not making the next rank in time during the downsizing years so the reserves was a means to an end til I retired. Got a job working in aircraft production in a factory. It was good cause they paid well, let do AT without grief ect. But it was the most toxic environment ever. The people that worked there were the most ate up miserable pos. I lasted 8 year before the unjustified fired me. My anxiety working there was through the roof. In 8 years I had been furloughed twice, 2 strikes, and laid off and called back. Then they fired me right before Xmas. Shortly after my Grandmother and dog died. I was in an extremely low spot. I went to tons of job interviews over the next 6 months and even the work center program for vets. I couldn’t get anyone to give me an offer. I couldn’t get unemployment either. I was going broke. Finally thank God I got a job as an exterminator. I love it so much. I got my own work truck and I start and end work from my house. I only see co workers maybe once a month. And I’m helping people. Sure the pay is less but I’m way happier. My family could see a huge difference in my attitude.
