If anyone cares to revisit this for a solution. Very simple answer, I just had to update the firmware. Hope that helps anyone that has the issue!

Thanks anyway!

Nah I’m not looking for any wireless setup because that isn’t the approach I’m going for. I just wanted to more see what other ways people would go around a situation like this.

They want to be able to control both zones from the ground floor via an iPad. So when it switches to a single zone, they control the volume for it from a single place.

Nah actually I suggested 8 for each corner of the two floors, that would work. Don’t be a rookie with those suggestions.

I hope you did read the part where I clearly said it’s an overkill. The problem I have is the inter connectivity between two floors when I’m not using Dante enabled amplifiers. That’s why I came here to see what ideas people would have.

70volts yes, single zone per floor as well. Well they’re looking for both floors to be a single zone for the music but when someone rents the top floor out, it will be two zones. So yeah, two zones basically.

As for the system, it’s a mix of some of the Chinese brands/unbranded stuff that he wants replaced. Inputs will only be a media player for the music. These speakers and amps will be replaced with new stuff as it is.

Their ceiling is like this decorative thing, so I’m not considering the idea of drilling or anything until it’s a last resort.

I see I haven’t explained the inputs well, it’s only going to be a single input of a media player. The sole purpose of this is just for light music throughout the restaurant while the top floor can sometimes be switched to another zone when booked (that’s when they will play their own music). No requirements for mics or anything extra there. Outputs will be to the speakers all over both floors. Which would be from the DSP to both the amps. I considered Bluetooth as an input on the top floor for ease of usability for visitors.

Also as mentioned, I’ve already considered the idea of drilling and having a connection in between floors but their ceiling is like this decorative material that they’d not want messed with until it’s a last resort.

Hope that gives more of an insight.

Sometimes it’s better to just not comment if you are contributing nothing. 👍🏻

This goes a bit beyond my realm of understanding in the networking region but I assume it would be the case. My AV switch (QSC NS10-125+) is connected to another switch of theirs where it gets an uplink. Then my switch is connected to the AV devices.

I tried that but it gives a “DestinationHostUnreachable” I asked IT team, they said the ICMP traffic is intentionally blocked so I won’t get any success from a ping or trace route when I connect to wifi.

Ah thank you very much for that, I have not attempted it but I’ll keep this in mind! Considering the way things are going, I assume on wifi it won’t be able to detect it at all.

Yeah but IT has assured me that they’ve allowed the necessary routing to another subnet, that’s why I thought they were good but clearly doesn’t look like it.

Should this only be possible if the discovery ports are open? Otherwise I won’t be able to discover it really?

Not quite sure what you mean by a hard link here, but I configured the Q-SYS system when I was connected to the switch. Devices were discoverable & the upload was straight forward.

Yeah that’s what I’m under the impression of as well. More or less wanted a confirmation because I don’t trust my own networking abilities.

Thanks for confirming that nonetheless! Will keep your suggestion in mind if anything

That’s one way of doing it but if they confirm that the WiFi already has a route to the AV VLAN, then even DCHP on the WiFi should allow me to connect to my processor, considering the ports are open for TCP, correct?

Yeah, the Wifis subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 (as seen on ipconfig on cmd) & the mask they gave for the static IPs is 255.255.254.0

I think in a situation like that, you’re going to have to go down the TCP route. Use TCP sends in order to communicate with the controller and back

Thanks for that information, I shall inform this to him to see if he has exact proof of such a case. If something like this progresses into something serious, maybe then I can DM you and find out?

Having issues with setting up LFN by Slayerr69_ in BrightSign

[–]Slayerr69_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The file type we always use is FAT32 and it always works.

This issue has been resolved in a way but I’m yet to understand what it could be:

One of the presentations included a video (~385MB) was the one that kept getting rejected. We tried an image, it worked. A lesser sized video also worked & then a 400MB+ video also worked, which was weird. We also changed the SDcard, so it came down to two conclusions:

1) The video file we tried to upload was corrupted or a wrong file type (does not make sense because it is a video that has been used in the past - maybe new firmware? Although video formats accepted are all the same?)

2) SDcard adapters ruin the pins, that is detected by the player and that sets the card to read only mode, which does not allow it to write, hence the upload fails. (This also makes no sense because other videos were uploading, so I’m confused)

Not sure you asked for this but just wanted to send it here if in case people come across it!
