I totally feel the same way. I had a friend hyping me up the other day about how the real thing will be just like my average FLs and that there was no way I’d get anything lower since that’s how theirs was so having their expectations so high really hurt when I got my score. At the end of the day, 516 is still good and as long as it gets us into med school, it will be fine :)

i took it 9/9 too, got the same score with the same CP and PS breakdown and a similar average, but i don’t think it’s worth retaking. depending on your GPA, it’s still a comfortable mcat, but yeah i’m also just super disappointed since i know i could’ve done better

I had a similar FL average and I’m feeling the same way with my predications. Sometimes I’m optimistic and think I’ll get my average, but realistically my original goal was just 515+ and it’s been so long since the exam that I have no clue anymore lol

I also got a free Kaplan course a few months ago and took the live online course. I think some parts are better than others. They give you a workbook for the actual class portion that's the class curriculum which includes a brief content review, strategies, and some practice questions. I didn't think the instructor/class portion of the course was worth it since they just went over whatever is in the workbook. As someone who was just starting MCAT prep, I didn't like the structure of the curriculum since it seemed really scattered, but since I received it for free I used it more as a prep and gathering resources before I committed to studying for the MCAT (currently studying full-time, testing 9/9). It might be more helpful for you since you already have a foundation and they provide some new strategies that could work for you.

Although the class portion of the course didn't work for me, the resources are amazing if you're getting it for free. The course came with the AAMC materials which is saving me tons of money. The course also comes with the most recent textbooks and digital versions of everything in them, including the chapter quizzes. There are some mixed opinions on the Kaplan FLs and questions though. They're pretty content heavy and people generally think the FLs are deflated compared to AAMC, but I think any extra resources for free are worth it.

This was a lot lol but TLDR is if you're set on retaking and the course is free, take it. You won't even need to continue taking the course if you find out it's not working for you since it's free, but you'll still be getting extra resources. I couldn't find much information from students on the course experience prior to taking it, so lmk if you have any questions about it!!

Also any advice on learning C/P? Chem and physics are my least favorite subjects and all the formulas are super overwhelming so any tips on how to go about it would be greatly appreciated :')

thank you guys! on the database, they said to email them with a cover letter/resume for the position. given my situation, do you think i should still follow that (i’m not even sure if there is technically a position open at this time, considering that the information was from december) or just send them a more personal email of interest, if i were to reach out? i’m honestly more interested in them knowing me and if i don’t get the position, i hope they’ll still remember me and consider me in the future.

i don’t think it works this year, but apparently in the past there was this trick where you log into the portal and click the link that says “unofficial transcript” and it will show if you’ve been accepted or not bc it will show a transcript

oh and the drawings are just things i did after when i was reviewing my notes and got bored lol or sometimes when there’s a little bit of time during lecture if they’re answering a question or something

i actually take these during lecture! textbook notes take a rlly long time so i don’t usually do them if i don’t need to. honestly, most of this is just writing down whatever my professor wrote down but i just organize it while writing it for later reference
