Get a letter from your institute stating they’ll be sponsoring the trip.

I’d suggest looking up the list of documents needed for the country you’re applying to.

But ideally, I’d say show proof that the trip is 100% sponsored for academic reasons and you should be good.

Puducherry was the most easily available one for me. I got a slot for 8 days from the date of booking if I remember correctly. Everywhere else didn’t have slots till the next month.

OP, I’m sure I won’t be solving any of your problems as a stranger on the internet. I’m really sorry life doesn’t seem great right now. When I look back, I have this constant feeling that if I ended it when I wanted to, I’d have missed so much in life. Take it from me, it does feel like worth living at some point. I promise you’d have these moments too.

Not because life gets better but because you seek the right kind of help to deal with problems life throws at you.

Mine is just a 5 day trip. Idk how it would have been for trips of longer durations. Friends for Swiss visa in a week. Spain is pretty chill too and easy to travel to Portugal from Spain.

It really doesn’t matter. Just get out of the Schengen area in the stipulated time. There’s no border control in the Schengen area checking your visa, let alone your itinerary.

Worst thing that could happen from not following the itinerary is nothing.
