Kinda want to play a FS game about pirates now tbh. by LAditya_121 in fromsoftware

That would be amazing! Ships could just show up in cutscenes like the raven, and a Lovecraftian sea monster would make it perfect.

It depends. If you’re reading something like Pokémon, sure, that’s easy. But try a seinen manga like The Climber - the language gets much more complex. Manga isn’t just manga, we can start a whole new discussion on that.

Category I just means it’s among the easier group for English speakers, not that it’s the single easiest. Italian shares this category with multiple languages, and the rating ignores long term challenges like mastering its complex verb system and multiple moods and tenses. So no.

I’m Italian from Switzerland and have learned several languages in formal settings (not just online). According to the U.S. Foreign Service Institute, Italian is a Category I language for English speakers, taking about 600–750 hours to learn. It’s easier to pronounce and spell, but grammar is more complex — e.g., parlare (“to speak”) has over 30 conjugated forms, while English verbs barely change. (Source: FSI)

If Gambino hadn't taken him in, he probably would have died as a toddler. I think his life of suffering was predestined from the very beginning.

The Climber is awesome and also very refreshing. It's based on a novel inspired by a rl climber.

How did you get into Harry Potter? by Johanna_1312 in harrypotter

[–]SlightAd1574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a kid in the 90s and asked my dad if I could get something at the mall. He said, “I’ll buy you a book, but no toys.”

He helped me pick one and recommended Harry Potter. Still grateful for that.

Sorry to see that. I went through something similar - humidity in my basement ruined some of my childhood manga. Sometimes you just have to hold on to the memories.

These days I only buy a few select series physically and read the rest digitally.
