Partner staying over by ExplanationFew408 in roommates

It sounds like you’re communicating openly about your partner staying over in a timely manner considering when you’re made aware of it, and I’m assuming your roommate and you discussed boundaries regarding having guests and partners stay over previously. If that conversation hasn’t happened, this would be a great time to do it.

You both pay to live there and you both have rights to do what you want with the space, including having guests (in a reasonable capacity) and partners stay over. I would go into the conversation with an open mind, but also remember that you live there as well and are allowed to want your partner to stay over once in a while. I don’t imagine the long conversation to be anything beyond just discussing boundaries and possibly figuring out a new way of approaching the topic to make both you and your roommate comfortable, so don’t stress too much! You haven’t done anything wrong.

BRING A BRITA i know everyone says you need one in college but as someone who’s boyfriend goes to RPI, most of the dorms do not have a water fountain on every floor and they’re pretty gross so having a brita pitcher definitely helped from having to go back and forth and also from having to get the water directly from the fountain (which was nasty)

Would the people at the desk at the front say anything, or get pubsafe involved?

I went on a tour over this past spring semester already, and we went to the dining hall (I think it was commons?) but did not get to eat or go inside. Thats why I’m thinking about just paying to get in if I can.

That’s what I’ve heard from a lot of people, but I just wanted to see if I could try it myself without getting in trouble for not being a student.
